I mean, I think lilrascal was representing FTR in the recent championship, but it was after he'd only played in 1 or 2 games on our forum. It was just that none of the our regs had time their schedule.

In retrospect, it was a fine choice, and lilrascal is def. one of our regs and a quality player.

It sucks to be in a position where I want to remove her from the game just to make the game more tolerable, and wouldn't be surprised regardless of what she flipped

I blew up baudib's mind-brain for as much in the Varchertine's game. It was a mistake.

I'm just trying to establish how it is that my read of Kami is that she's perfectly content-free and correlate that to her winning a championship game.

I feel similar about bigred. I mean, he's not much help at solving most games. If he posts a few lolcats or gifs in any game day, then his activity is par. The thing is, while his content is the pits, he usually gets a hearty belly laugh out of me if he's active enough to post. (His, "You mean I got one?" U wot m8 post was epic. :lol:) So, while I totally agree with wuf's assessment that bigred probably wont contribute, I still don't want to vote him on D1. Certainly not before he's even posted. Too much lol equity.

Alright, so a few initial thoughts after having skimmed through the last page.

HiFi is my top villager read. Her tone feels genuine and as of right now she feels game solvy.

I liked lilrascal and Mojo. Again just at first glance so I'll go back and do my best to substantiate these gut feelings.

Kami is interesting. I've seen her play like this as villager more than I've ever seen her play like this as a wolf. She's even fake-claimed Seer before with a w peek on the actual Seer. As a wolf then it made our lives a whole lot easier, but it was detrimental to the village. So my point here is that she can enact sabotage, but it isn't a scum tell. So I guess my point here is maybe we should just leave her be. Or have our Poisoner take a shot at her. Either way the vote feels too easy, like, she's an easy vote for a wolf to make. And that's her fault, not anybody else's, but right now I'm of the mindset that she's >>rand Vanillager. Her attitude sucks but I can't see a wolf entering the thread and voting for an early consensus v read. Feel free to disagree with me.

Tom I'm unsure of. In the last game (and only other game) I played with him he was a wolf and he played confidently and even did his fair share of trolling. I don't see that here so far. It could be because he was wolfing with Cory then and isn't now :P or because a lot of the players here he isn't as familiar with. But either way I'm getting a more genuine feeling from him. And I knew he was a wolf then (but didn't have the ability to convince anyone else of this, so shame on me), so I would like to think that I could read him similarly now. But he's a talented player ldo so I'm a bit more hesitant as of right now.

Everyone else I don't yet have a read on just cause I haven't seen anything that really stands out.

i always try to kill bigred. he loses games for the village. he's a smart guy, but he just doesn't play. he signs up, maybe posts a couple times early on, but he vanishes and doesn't keep up. especially given the size of this game, you could probably bet him $100 dollars that he won't read more than half the posts, where he would win that money from you if he did, and he still wouldn't do it. the last game he played in, he posted like once or twice. the last game he got to the end in, he didn't know what was going on and yet a pivotal decision relied on him. i have a wealth of history of going after the endgame liability players, as well as a wealth of history of not posting much of what i think on d1.

come to think of it, we should keep bigred alive since gator will sub in for him.

as for kami, ong's read is spot on. this is very like what she did last game. if she's a wolf, it's almost "bad" for us in the sense that since it's so early and we wouldn't get much information out of her death. regardless, the read is strong.

I've noticed a few people are voting by just bolding names without including "lynch" before it -- is that legit? It's been a couple of years since I played....

I assume by your post count that you haven't played WW with wuf before. Without a good read, wuf isn't a good day 1 lynch. He throws a ton of content and analysis into the thread, and tends to push confrontations between many different players, all of which is very useful as the game progresses.

Unfortunately, since I haven't played in so long, I'm working off very old reads (for those that I recognize) or completely blind (for all the players I don't know), so this is interesting for me. Two years ago, I probably would have have a default player in mind until a better option appeared later in the day. But now I don't even know who that default player would be.

But frankly, Kami already seems like that better option. If she's just going to spew nonsense all game until she gets killed, I don't see much value to the village in keeping her around.

I'm on mmm's side here as far as analyzing hifi's wall of text at the beginning of the game. I read it twice, once for mechanics and once for tone. The mechanics make sense afaict but the tone leaned wolfy.

Kami doesn't look good because she already has a bunch of posts and they are garbage. I just glanced at random pages of the last game (pages 5 and 6) and it seems like Kami's main involvement with this game was the same then -- random accusations and statements with zero evidence or reasoning, plus lots of unnecessary insulting. Granted, last game she was a wolf. But if she's a villager, does she really provide any benefit to the village?

I just did some digging. dsax is an old member who hasn't been here for years. He has 2k posts and a signup date of 2005. But he's from before my time, I don't think I've ever played against him, and I've been involved in most games for five years ish.

I think hifi recruited him back to FTR. Small world etc.

The issue I take with this post is that the entire thing is easy for a wolf to make -- which is the argument you seem to be using against me. Let's see more original thought from you.

But it amuses me that you think being pleasantly surprised by people (nobody specific, even) is buddying. Want to run me through how you came to that conclusion?

As an aside, I find JKDS's approach and timing wolfy in a vacuum. He's taking a "hard" stance that's trivially easy for a wolf to make, and hasn't talked about anything else. Feigned indjgnance about allowing for more time does not a villager read make. If he doesn't post more, he'd be a reasonable wolf candidate.

He's right down the middle where wolves like to be. Not too villagery, not too wolfy. Appearing passionate, but lacking true conviction or purity of thought to my eye. By voting for me he can avoid taking a stance on the prevailing semi-policy-lynch wagon. It's a similar tactic to what you guys said Kami did as a wolf recently.

If anyone else wants an explanation for why I'm confused by Kami, it's because my observation of her behaviors goes beyond this game... I've had one wary eye on her for a while across a few sites and I'm starting to become annoyed that she continually signs up for and then underperforms in games. That continued history blended with acting like she can't be bothered to play (when she keeps signing up for games) and being hostile or indignant doesn't really make sense to me except from a very selfish "out to amuse herself and only herself" perspective, and THAT is the attitude I don't understand because its antithetical to having a good time in a game that's meant to be competitive but fun.

That's also why I wouldn't be surprised what she flips; lynching her is truly =rand because she doesn't adhere to the standards of the game.

JKDS didn't have all that context, but his "sing you praises" indignance he's used to justify a vote rings hollow.

I have literally a perfect track record for pegging ong and I'm not going to budge, especially after he finally has responded to my read.

Now, he's posing paradoxial questions to help his case on me, which happens to be his only case on me.

Of course I have no answer to that question. I don't know what goes on in your head drew. But I'm failing to see the village motivation in your position. If you think I'm a wolf, don't you then assume that kami si more likely to be a villager? Or do you just auto-assume I'm bussing?

I'd prefer to give it another 24 hrs or so before I agree rilla is always a wolf, especially given I think you're wolfy.
