Poker sure is a sick game. I can't complain because I keep running good at random mtts at the top of my buyin range coming in top 4 of a 55 , 27, 109€, and winning a 15 180 in the last 200 mtts but I got to say variance is nuts. Dropped 70 buyins in my last 80 180mans this month, breakeven including the 15 win last month. Some days you think you are a genius (pretty sure everyone thinks this when they are winning including fish) and other days you are just like sigh wtf do I really suck this bad.

For some reason I thought I wouldn't have a big edge at the single table 9mans but it looks like I might. I don't know if it is the weak players at ftp moving to stars or what. Never played turbos on stars befire but always assumed there were too many regs. but have been on a hot streak and may manage a sick leaderboard score (please top 10 I want a shootout ticket). won 80 buyins in 46 games :S Mainly 15s but have played a few 30s and there are fish there too.

Sick brag I turned 25$ into somewhere close to 25k in 18 months. Sick beat I still wonder some days if I am really a winner and I have been having tilt issues. Variance, losing or winning 100$ is now kinda irrelevant and I can handle 10bi swings no sweat now where before I was like I won 100$ omg, or super upset about losing that amount..


O well off to play some sats to a the same 109 freezeout and then hopefully play that and win another package that I can make into T€/$. Debating making supernova but it will be hard if I continue to work fulltime and I only have 8k vpp so far this year. I made silverstar today though:confused: Anyways going to grind out another 200 or 300 vpps call it a day and go back to work the next couple days.

Super stoked for spain both as a vacation and a chance to play a bigger live event.

GFD i hate mtts now.... got in AJ vs obvious TT+ Ak On axx since he min 4bet me. flop ct with me in position, he bets turn I jam for about 2.5x he calls TT and gets there on the river, sigh.

Aah sigh.. Today coulda been my day but it wasnt :s Pretty sure thats everyday when you play mtts. I got deep in some 180s and managed to bust all except mincash one sigh. I did get 2nd in a 15$ 45 and 1st in a 7$ 45. Worst beat is I late regged a 27$ ko right as the hour came to a close (yay 3 bbs) anyways after quintupling up (5x) in like an orbit I built up to 80k some chips and was in top 10 with 50 left of 1100 then I lost a bunch of pots vs shorter stacks and eventually KK vs AQ for a pot to bring me back to a decent stack sigh.

why do 180s have to be so rigged. I am now over .5 million chips below ev. I started playing a few 3r 180s today. They are alot softer and a little bit deeper late which I like. Might have to stop the 15s if I keep running like this. Sigh fish icon, yay shark icon :S

Reload bonus is almost cleared, Goal is to get in 550 games total and Goldstar by end of Tuesday. And to win something in a 180.

succeeded at everything except 550 games total. shipped a 15$ 180, still have fish icon. ran good at 45 mans and bad at 9 mans. Played B game and made some misclicks using stack and tile (highly recommend) trying to 22 table at times. Once I got everything setup correctly it works really smoothly but I think 18ish tables is better. All in all I ran good.

Running super good today, after losing 250 after work and dropping a quick 250 this morning I was pretty disgusted and wondering if I had the ethic to grind more. Turns out I did and hit a nice patch. Also got a little above average with 90 left in the 27ko where first is 3.500.

Shipped 2 15 45 mans for 200 a 8$ 180 for 400 and 3rd in a 15$ 180 for 300. SWINGZ in 180s this month included below.

lol, lost 600 today it was gross :s 4.5k vpp spent like 15 hours grinding for a net loss of 200 and 1.1k vpp last few days. sigh.

today I lost two huge pots on final tables where I had 75% plus where they spike rivers and also ran KK in AA about 10 times.

Ya, but they are being cruel *whimper* 200k chips below ev today in like 5k hands. just lost 99 vs k9 for 160k chips (of 270k in play) bvb to get 200 for 4th in a 15 180 after losing KT to 65 and ak to jt for big pots at same final table. Now if (big if) I win my last 8$ 180 i will be breakeven for the day. 4 left and I have average stack. Almost got platinum star now though 6.2k vpp.

meh, shipped the 8 of course just wish I could got at least 2nd for 500 in the 15 sigh.


Yup win in Spain, give 5% to fulky (maybe) then stay in spain for a week.

Ended the Month up 4.2k ish and made Platinum star with a huge grind on the last day of like 160 games. Either way about to leave for Spain, playing day 1a tomorrow. Hopefully there are some fish in the field cuz there are 4 stars team pros and a few supernova regs who I know are decent. Either way last time I played a 1k I didn't play scared money at all (opposite prolly) and goal is to do the same again with reasonably timed aggression. Just don't bluff fish + stations.

Gonna go to beach for a bit then day 2 starts at 3pm. I really hope I get a good table draw. The field that moved onward from day 1a is pretty mixed. Mostly face-up players, nits, but also a fair few solid guys who are extremely aggressive but in the right spots. Also a few fish left although a lot of them busted early. we'll be starting at 500/ 1k a100 average from day1a was 38k; got 47k.

fwiw this was hand before break, room is already emptying and it's about midnight. He opens the HJ, I flat cuz his range is so wide since he is super aggressive and seems aware. He checks the flop to me and I check back with the intention of calling the turn almost no matter what, river comes a blank and his line makes no sense.

Meh, had a rough session saturday night, got to play against courtiebee. She won all the pots and I didnt :( I kinda salvaged it to only lose a 100 even though I busted every single 180 I played. I went deep in a 5$ freezeout busted 8th of 1.1k runners for 125 after I reshoved 22 into AA with a bad read / faulty logic.

Basically a tighter player min opened 15 bb in mp and he had just openshoved 17 bb with AK earlier so I though his range was really polarized. Realistically it was probably just really strong.

just had an even rougher session wtf. lost 1k playing mttsngs, ended up 5th for 1.2k in a 16.50 turbo with 1800 runners to book a small win. Swingy day all in all.

been a gross day went semideep quite alot in schedules and 180s but nothing nice yet. Have 710k in the big 11 with 108 left, 1st is just shy of 18k. Got a bit above average, one time.

god i have been running so bad at 180s too.... 4 days per week i play almost every $35 that runs between 10 am and 5 pm PT and I haven't placed top 3 in one since June :( Last time i won one was in May, back when they were $36 180s. fml

haha, used my image to value bet semi thin (and actually made some hands) and won. First win with something above 180 entrants.

Set some records yesterday, but not really the good kind. Most games played in a day 180ish, and none were stts. Most lost in a day 1.300 :( Anyways withdrew my roll down to 700$ and will be playings 7$ KOs and 45 mans. No more than 20 tables ever for time being. Basically starting over to regain some confidence and to minimize variance.

1000 - 15 kos
1200 - 15 45 mans
1600 - 8$ 180s
3000 - begin mixing 15$ 180s once I feel good about my 180 game...

200 bi downswing in 180s ... oooops. Guess I didn't realize it was possible to lose that many games in a row :confused: this month starts right before my last 180 win where the graph peaks. In total 36k hands running 600k chips below ev too doesnt help. I'm also somehow running at -125 bb/100 ev (-140 actual) from the sb which is pretty ridic, it's only over 5k hands but I'll be looking at spots from the sb more closely.

In other news I've decided to move back to the U.S. The last year I spent in Austria has been quite depressing on the whole and I need to return to the U.S. to keep residency by mid October so I've just booked my ticket. This means I will probably be quitting online poker at least in terms of how seriously I have taken it these last 6 months. I will probably try to learn cash with a few hundred dollar roll at 10nl.

Hoping to find a job dealing in a home game type setting part time but we will see. Also going to go back to college and finish a degree in either engineering or business management / accounting.

Yea, it's definitely a very possible downswing even if you have a decent roi but certainly frustrating. Yea I am originally born Austrian, moved to the USA at 2 and established permanent residency there and have lived there ever since except for summer vacations to Austria.


Decided to go a lower variance route and am playing 7$ 18 mans since they are super soft, a little different from 9 mans (which seem pretty lame now tbh both in terms of being interesting and profitable). I snap ran 35 buyins below ev over 250 games about a 50-50 mix of 9 and 18 mans so my roll is down like 80. at least they were all 7s lol. I'm not looking to go back to grinding 45 mans + as my main games.

@ fulksy idk to be honest. I'll play some but want to find a job or go back to school so I think I'll be playing pretty casually to start. Depending on if I can handle software and softness of games to make a lil extra each month that'd be great.


In other news wtf live poker. We had a pretty nutty single blind 2€ omaha table (500 bb pots very standard) and an even nuttier 2-4€ table. Some dude pulls a 200€ pot and tips me 8€ which is super and then asks me did I tip you 45 seconds later. I'm say ya thanks or something and the dude in the 9 seat leans over and mumbles something about the guy stiffing me (he hasnt obv) and drops a 10 in my chiptray, ... ok not arguing. 30 seconds later mumbles some more, drops a 10 in my chiptray... ok. It becomes obvious this guy is drunk and he then proceeds to not tip me when he wins pots lol. Anyways best day at work in a fair while made about 140€ in 7 hours. Earnings are super variant as a dealer table and drunks dependant but I'm gonna be on the long 12+ hour shifts grind this month not going home early to earn some sure money since who knows what I'll do next. If I could earn 3k at 18 mans playings 1k games at the 7s at 1$ a game and 1k at the 15s at 2$/gm which seems doable for the decent regs that'd be cool too.

Anyways its 6am, sun is coming up better go to bed :rolleyes:

roll 620.... lol nut low for a long time but just treating as buyins and gonna grind back up. Note to self, I will not bust this roll, or play 180 mans or mtts with bi >10 except ones I buy fpp tickets for.

Lets hope so. How is volume and general player quality at the 30s? Meh haven't been running hot but time will come, driving to Saalbach to deal some tourney and hopefully there will be some sick cash game action (and tipping maybe??) since the German high roller starts there on the 6th. Got sunday off so I'll be grinding like 200 games hopefully all 18s except for fpp entries to the big 11,22,55.

some good MTT regs play the $30s, but other than that they're just a bit tougher than the $15s.

I only play 10 tables so I can reg $30s exclusively during peak hours np. During non peak hours it's a 50/50 mix of $30s and $15s

Meh I've been in a real rut mentally for awhile now. I cant really focus on the quality of my play and just worry about getting owned all the time. For example in this hand I sighed when the flop came out and "knew" i was going to lose... it's not that I don't understand that this happens 4% of the time it has just been happening way too often recently

meh, not going to find hh but 10k pot in the 8.80 turbo AQ vs kj on A87r or something. As expected board runs out ..T, Q. The only time I expect to have a chance at winning pots these days is with the stone cold nuts. Anyways whine whine whine I know... I just need to run better and stay focused on playing well. Easier said than done.

Anyways today I overslept so didnt play any of the bigs mainly 7$ 18s. reason I overslept is because we went to play live pokerz last night after that horrible shift where i lost money including gas costs lol. Put in 5 hours for a 35€ loss at 1-2 but had tons of fun and got into some fun leveling spots and had a crazy image. The dealers also had a very good shift lol, me and the other guy from work tipped tons.

Anyways, just gonna grind though, I may redeposit some money i have sitting on moneybookers once I get my mojo back and win like 50 BIs at the 7s.

meh lols. Anyways still breaking even at 7s (lol 50 bi below ev at 9 and 18s though + awful roi at 45 mans which arent accounted for). I have found a few leaks in my game though so guess thats a silver lining. I was playing way too light with 6-12 bbs in early position since I wasnt used to being so short at a 8+ handed table from STTs. Also calling off nits thinking they might be smart enough to shove wide (many aren't especially at 7s).

Anyways been on the work grind, 10 hour shifts and earned like close to 700$ in the last 3 days, grinding tonight and waking up to drive to a 100€ tourney nearby and play cash throughout the night then come home to sleep and go back to working nights for remainer of this month.

Playing live cash is so fun and players suck so bad. Like a nit opens in ep to 16 at 1-2 in gets called cbet and call on T63r 3 on turn guy bets and villains say aha you hit the 3. Another similar pot and another guy puts the guy betting on the nuts which is never in his range given the way the hand plays.
Some awesome foreshadowing too. While working at the casino in Saalbach working we were talking with the floor about false announcements at showdown. I said imo if u muck ur hand u mucked your hand and thats your fault. Anyways I c/c like a 1/3 pot allin from a fish with 99 on J8xx and hes pretty nitty so I figure he has the jack and he's like "yup i hit the jack". I'm like ok cool table it and he motions for me to muck... haha bro not happening. He has air and I ship the 150€ pot.

Hating poker a ton right now and have shunned playing online for the past week. Live play went ok I put in a 13 hour session and busted tournament pretty early but then won 215€ playing cash. Was up 300 at cash and dropped to being down 100 within first 2 hours lol. Lots of fun and did lots of bluffcatching vs some stupid aggrofish whose value / bluff lines were very different and obvious. I made two bad river calls that cost me 80€ a piece and were kinda obv folds just because villains value range is really thin (seemed non existent at time lol) doesnt mean he EVER bluff big on river without reads, especially these passive idiots.

Anyways need to stop playing like an idiot, made a horrible call in big 55 too without reads on QQ6A6 with A6! Villain has AQ ldfo...

stars roll 470 (meh disappointing am not motivated to play 7s either..) also lost like 200ish of tickets to bigs 11, 22,55 bought with fpps..
also realized I had 30$ on lock I cant cash out because its a sticky bonus and I'll be trying to run that up or bust it. Probably will be playing cash and tournaments on lock when back in the states.

Might go play live poker again tomorrow night and other than that just grinding as much at work as possible to make some $$ since I seem unable to do it with poker and really dont feel like playing ever anymore.

Been grinding work and not playing poker but that's about to change. Got my last week at work starting tonight and then another 2 weeks in Austria to grind. First week I will hopefully be grinding betfair sngs as their leaderboard promotion is ridiculously good, 1k to first every week and the payout isn't top heavy either (10k to top 50). Top 5 is pretty easy and that is like 400+ and hopefully rb + deposit bonus.

Pretty much going to work myself to the bone between working 6 days a week and trying to play 100+ (180+ on days off) sngs daily on betfair until the 8th or 9th. Hopefully hop for a quick trip to vienna to meet oskar and perhaps play a 200€ side event at the PPT, won't be able to play the main though due to extra shifts at work. Might have to nix this to clear full bonus and due to leaderboard.

Should succeed in clearing 1k *2k raked* deposit bonus and hitting some good leaderboard scores (top 5 once, top 10 once, aiming for like top 20 now since I only have half of this week). Breakeven to 5% before rb+bonuses at average stake of 11 will be considered a success given the sng structure (3 min turbo levels) and I'll probably need to add tables to make it, play like 16 stacked and see how that goes. Tested everything out a bit today and the software isn't stars but it is alot crispier and quicker than bwin (TILT).

Wasting time includes booting up pc after a 10 hour shift for 2 hours and accomplishing nothing and then sleeping until I have to wake up for work. If I am too tired to play I will sleep.

70 games before and 30 games after work will probably be my main schedule on work days. 2 100 game sessions on days off would be ideal.

Pretty much my last 20 days to grind out a 20+$ hour job and poker seriously, who knows whats next but I want to build as big a cushion as possible. Moving to Seattle pretty soon after I get back or going to spend a few months in Fairbanks Alaska mebbe.

Meh, almost forgot how tilting poker is. On a serious note it feels good to be grinding again, even though I am about b/e including rb over first 180 games. I had a nice 40 games after work from like 3-6 am, games dont go off too much at this point but I made about 200 with rb. Lost all that back now from 2 - 5.30pm. I played some 22s since my roll was 1250 + 80 bonus and leaderboard equity and rb and points, ran kinda good at first then got crushed alot.

Anyways looks like this will be a bit harder than I thought especially in terms of winning the leaderboard. It's more like 1500 games in a week at the 11s b/e before rakeback and I just don't have that much time. It would be a grind without a 50+ hr work week. Luckily the payout is fairly flat. Aiming for like 1k from the leaderboard over the 3 weeks, probably just 100-150ish this week which is cuz i only played half. Next 2 weeks top 10 which is 250+.

Today was a super day at the tables; Games were really good for some reason with alot of fish who were on lots of tables, not really sure how much I am up, about 200ish pre rb. HEM and SS both miss games so I will just be using cashier amount.

I'm a little confused by exactly how the points system at betfair works but points (and thereby bonus clearing) is way better for sng / tournament players who get like 1.5x that of cash players. Granted the rake at sngs is brutal though, turbos much quicker than stars with 10%. Anyways it appears I'll be getting 75%ish rb altogether + the sng leaderboard. Not sure if I made a hundo this week or not but it's not really a big deal.

Grind this week, if I run normal (like b/e with rb) I can get a 500+ spot on LB. Could potentially even get first if I keep getting sent home from work early. There was a 60k rake race too that is over now and I know a few guys who have been at the top are taking it easy / taking a break now. Also be getting ahead of pace.

ran 260 below ev today for a 100 loss, somewhere around -100 overall over like 680 games in 30 hours. On the brightside I played really well, ev over 100 some games was +55 + 80 in rb. Knew I was playing well too and ran into alot of cold deck spots where peoples ranges are wide (like shove 4 bb utg 5 handed) and they have TT, AQ+ mostly haha.

Anyways got to go to work soon, get some games in from whenever I get home from work til 6am. Sleep til 2 and grind out 200+ games on Sunday afternoon / night. Might go out sunday for a few hours too.

Meh, first is gonna be nearly impossible but I really want is :S. Suprise attack him for 300 games at last minute mebbe ?? Either way he's gonna have to let up a little for me to catch him. This is only updated til Sunday or Monday, not really sure, I put in alot of volume during this time but didnt run very good, since then only played 100ish games per day but ran very good and points are based on finish position per game so I should be able to hold 2nd. Worked a 11 hour shift yesterday, slept 7 hours, talked with some visitors we had over and grinded 50 games in b4 work and ended up +200. Highly recommend trying to win this leaderboard if you are an sng player. It's seriously pretty ez, Only played 26 hours so far and you are getting like 15+/hr in rakeback and bonus pre leaderboard just 12 tabling the 11s. Regs are also pretty bad for the most part, esp at 11s. Even if you only play part time there isn't much competetion and it's easy to get a 100-200 spot even playing 5.50s and that is 20-40 buyins a week in bonus!

jcf played 218 games today and ran 700+ below ev with tons of setups. Played some 22 5 max cuz they are good for leaderboard points and they are really soft. Lost 20 buyins over 70 games even though ev was in green + 140 of rb lol. Anyways, hopefully manage 2nd on leaderboard although it looks sketchy. The leaderboard doesn't really finish updating til like monday or tuesday.. meh...

RB line is set to 100% and I should be getting at least that much but up to 150%ish with leaderboard. Could be worse. 10+/hr running 1k below ev :clap: :(

Ohi, I am actually not dead although was in terms of poker for a while there. Never went to Vancouver. Recently moved to Seattle and been busy with life and just got back on the internet. Anyways I havent really been doing much focusing since the start of this blog.. a fair bit of exploiting villains and whatnot but relatively little studying or putting in actual hours. I had a great session playing 3-20 spread limit winning 1145 one night lol. Got raped my last 2 sessions for a 800 total loss though, pretty sick because the max you can bet or raise is 20 lols.
Anyways playing on merge for now I guess. Not particularly excited about it.
For some reason I really hate small changes to my playing environment be it software, setup, playing in a new place (like taking laptop to a friends or w/e). Fulltilt was like that but I got used to it and I am sure I can get comfy with merge too. So just getting settled in 12 table tiling every 5$ bounty plus whatever I need to fill space. So i ran 100$ i had on some random site up to like 3.8kish but have hit a decent downswing and lost alot of motivation this month and am only up 800 ish so far which doesnt even cover the bare minimum. Still have some savings and will be playing through feb and if that doesnt go at least semidecent then I will be getting a job. Potentially dealing again cuz I can make even more here. Would be part time prob but that would be fine.

Anyways been feeling pretty crushed / bitching alot so far this month. Its to the point where I play well below my ability and have quite little confidence. Anyways not playing any more mtt sngs or 11$ mtts since Im on a 500 + downer in those over a fair few games and my roll is only 500 right now its 3$ and 5$ 10 mans. Over and Over! I dunno about 2015 poker plans, I'd like to keep playing but preferably be studying or working as well. Pretty sick of reg speed sngs, they don't run much above 15$s and when they do the lineup is usually 6+ decent regs. I enjoy mtts/ mttsngs more but I really hate variance alot but I suppose I just need to man up.

I did sat into eureka in a weekly 215$ players choice. Seriously don't play those things, extremely small tough field. Regular sats are waaaaay softer. I was prob in the worst 25% of players in the 20 person field.

Table at Prague was ok, had a major fish with a 60k stack up from 20k and he lost it all by bb600 which was no surprise to anyone. I ran up to 35k then lost pretty much every hand from then on til busto near the end of day 1 :(

Prob get back to grinding online today, only at top of sharkscope leaderboard by like 30$ and I wanna keep my shiny star :D Have 42.5k vpp for the year.. Don't really care much to shoot for 50k since games suck and rather just enjoy holidays. 45 should be plenty doable though!
