Moving to Canada with a bot sounds sooooo sitcom
So I decided to open up PokerStars again today, being the 2nd time in like a month (the other time I was hammered as fuck). A small % of the reason why I've been reluctant is because I recently had my computer formatted and didn't bother to save my HH database. So, I got it up working again and am now trying to configure the HUD as per my liking. I'm posting a request for recommendations on your own personal HUD's. What are you viewing?
My default is:
Player name; # of hands
---new line---
VPIPP; PFR; 3Bet
??? then what?
Fuck databases, jsut spend $50 and buy a shitload of recent HH's to use for stats.
Also you need steal stats (positional awareness) fold BB to steal and probably fold to turn cbet.
get rid of 3bet %. Otherwise it's fine imo.
call preflop raise % is nice. flop cbet / fold to flop cbet I also have.
So I decided to get my ass in gear this week, after taking a month off. What did I do during that month? Play Call of Duty, watch LOST, and fuck the dog.
I started playing again on Tuesday and have put in 25k hands since then. I was actually break-even after the first 16k hands but I've been running like GOD himself since then, I am $2000 above EV, which is ridiculous. Put in 4k hands today and finished +11 buy-ins.
Also, I started going to the gym again, I haven't smoked for a month and haven't had a drink in two weeks. Cheers to not drinking on St. Patty's day nor the Lemonstravagenza this Friday.
Here's some pictures of this 'new game' I started playing:

Second winds are nice ehh?
nice graph
did you get a pet?
Yeah 2nd winds are nice. For me, and prolly most other people, this is how things go: If I take a bunch of time off, a month for instance, I fall off of my 'A' game. I think this is fairly standard across all sorts of professions. The problem with poker, is that every time this happens - I lose a bunch during my first session (which is what happened). So it's hard to get the motivation to play again when I'm a little confident of losing money for the first 10 hours or so, which delays my return even further, prolonging the problem.
Re pet: No, not yet. Wuf sold me on a Savannah but I've since then changed my mind. I'm thinking of getting fish instead.... I know, kinda lame. I just don't want the responsibility that comes with a pet outside of an aquarium.
get a gross lizard
Get rabbits obv.
As the 'husband' of a woman who works in animal education: If you can't take care of a cat or dog, just don't bother getting a pet.
You can't bond with a fucking lizard like you can a fellow mammal.
You ever met the motherfucking bird that lives downstairs? Birds are good for laying eggs and being eaten but not for living in the room next to the motherfucking computer mmmK?
rite. and fish are lame responsibilities.
Just get a fucking dog and find an off-leash dog park to go to. Fantastic chick magnet. You'll be laid in a week or two unless you go out of your way to fail.
Carroters wins the lolz, d0zer wins the common sense.
drew feed it a nacho. quiets him.
I'm waiting for the day ge00fish tilt strangles that fucking bird.
I haven't slept for 22 hours now and am going to try and stay up as late as possible and thus canceled my gym session today. All in an attempt to get to sleep at a reasonable hour tonight.
sweet update bra
ship me your aim or msn please. need ask you a few questions
Well, I wish I had some better sleep in me.
First of all, I tried to stay up like I said I would earlier. What ended up happening was I fell asleep on the couch for 2 hours at 3pm. I am currently lying in my bed after waking from a 3 hour slumber. I don't normally post on stuff like this very regularly but I sometimes feel better when I can get things off my chest, or in this case, off my back:
What I'm about to describe to you, only takes place when I am either: sleep deprived; or sick. My first episode occurred five years ago with I had a horrible case of the flu. I was asleep for only a couple of hours then all of a sudden - I am awake, except, I cannot move. Then, I felt a presence in the room. I begin to freak out then suddenly awaken and say 'fuck that' to trying to get back to sleep. They're called 'night terrors,' along with other names. Information can be found here: Night terror - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia What's extremely interesting to note is that of the sections that describe the 'In Adults' and the 'Treatment' sections. They describe me perfectly.
My history with them, including tonight:
Before 2010, it only happened to me a few times. A really bad one was when my gf and I were sleeping in my bed and were asleep on our sides facing each other. I awaken, open my eyes, look at her, but cannot move. Her face then becomes distorted, demon like. I try to move but can't. I begin to yell to her but she does not move. Her eyes are open and staring back at me. At this point, I'm screaming. Then I awake in a sweat. She is asleep but I wake her fucking ass up anyways and tell her what happened while demanding to know why she would wake up when I was yelling at her.
Night terrors / sleep paralysis has happened maybe 6-7 times in my life, twice in the last 3 days.
Two nights ago, I'm sleeping in my bed. All of a sudden, I feel like I'm in the movie 'Paranormal Activity' because I'm being dragged out of my bed. I awake yelping.
A half hour ago, this happened to me: Fell asleep at 2 am, three hours later, I am dreaming about trying to get to sleep while my brother is in a sleeping bag on my floor, playing his PSP or something. I'm lying on my stomach and I'm playing with my cell phone. He says: "I think someone is coming in this room." I feel something get on the foot of my bed, but don't know what it is and cannot see it. I figure it's just him messing with me. Then it sits on my back and puts its hands on my through, strangling me. I'm thinking, "WTF DUDE GET OFF OF ME." It turns out to be not a practical joke, I think I'm going to die. I'm able to spin to my back and look up at this thing strangling me. It's nothing but a shadow, with weight. I awaken myself, scared as hell, in this dark room, with a back that felt like someone heavy had just been sitting on it.
I was really scared. Since then, I've been typing, put the light on, and have been listening to the radio, so I feel a little better now. However, I'm not going back to sleep. My back still hurts. I'm an atheist and am 99% sure that this is all in my head and a result of sleep deprivation. The fact that I'm not 100% certain, has me terrified.
No word of a lie, I get those after I've done a few nights of work. Also keep note of the temperature/pressure outside changing, ie, the past few days have been changing to the insane heat we're about to have. My body is affected by that BIGtime. Next time you're here you can ask Lina on how many times I've lept from our bed ready to fight someone after I've finally regained control

On Thursday I had PK laser eye surgery on my left eye. Will be having my right eye done this Friday. I've been having to put drops in them quite a bit and it is really uncomfortable. Each eye is going to run me $2700, FML.
Today I played my first session for a week or so and it was quite up and down. I wtfpwned some players and the same happened to me. I'm going to post my biggest pots lost where I made vital errors, along with three large pots where I wtfpwnd villain. Enjoy!
Also, I'm not confident in achieving SNE this year and am looking for buy-outs at like 75%. Any takers? You can has your monies now! :D Offer expires at the end of this month.

Dude, sleep paralysis is horrible. It's like the most annoying thing that can happen. Fucking terrifying at times actually. Next time you get it, wake yourself up like as much as you can i.e look a light for a few seconds or sit up in bed for a lil while.
It's so horrible when you're totally paralysed but the evil weird presence is just slowly coming towards you, speaking to you, saying normal things that are still hella scary like "man can I have one of your beers?" I hate sleep paralysis, fucking bad. I'm drunk btw, but that really reminded me of bad times. Take it easy.
I'll buy out for 75% also. spoonitnow(Boonville)

Update
Overdue?
Good news and bad news, I'll start with the bad: Not attaining SNE this year, but I think that was already ldo. Also, very high chance of not netting the six figures that I thought was very doable 6 months ago. There's a few reasons for it, including:
- Not enough volume. I've put in an average of 1000 hands per day since the beginning of March (I formatted my laptop and lost my hand histories so all of my data begins then). January and February I probably played like 50k hands. So, it's been pretty pathetic overall as far as work ethic goes.
- Running below EV.
These two things plus eye surgery costs plus house costs have really put a damper on my bankroll and my credit card. Thus, I think I've not been playing my 'A' game for quite possibly 5-6 months.
The good news:
I'm posting this update. This means I feel I have gotten a second wind = moar manies to be made soon. Other than a week camping at the end of this month, I don't really have any big plans to occupy a lot of my time this summer. Also, a fellow FTR'er has moved in with me this week and will be staying for at least the next few months (I probably got my 2nd wind from him).
As far as 2010 goals go,
1) I haven't had a cigarette since February
2) I don't eat out nearly as much as I used to and have now been cooking at home much more often
3) I signed up for a men's indoor footy league on Sundays, my three month gym membership expired last week and my new 12 month membership begins tomorrow, and I'm playing golf as well as hockey on a semi weekly basis.
4) Probably not going to happen
5) -$1200 in Prop bets lolz yw congrats you bastards
What are you doing to meet goal #1?
I can't grind without smoking every 1/2-1 hour.
It's killing my productivity more than it's helping at this point.
Keep that chin up man. What are you doing this saturday for the ENG vs USA match?
I have the same problem.I have kids so I never smoke in the house.I've made a rule to not smoke until I've hit 100 hands in a session(I'm 2 tabling so you'd have to set your own goal depending on how many tables your playing). At this point in my education I find that discipline is mandatory and if we can't practice it with smoking we'll never be able to practice it with other more important factors to the game. That said,we all need to get off the coffin nails.Just not sure I'm ready. ;)

A couple of days ago I played for about 4 hours. After my session I checked the cashier and noticed I had accrued no FPPs to speak of.If I did it was something like .02 or more but definately not a full point.I'm only 2 tabling 2nl but it seems like I'm usually doing way better than that.Didn't think about it twice til I read you're post.I'm not saying this should become a conspiracy theory and I've got alot of faith in Stars but yeah,WTF?Maybe start tracking my shit better.
cliff notes:
Me: *looks at cashier* "wtf?" *sends e-mail inquiring about missing fpp*
Stars: "My bad. Here you go." *ships fpp to my account*

Update
zomg July has been brutal. Today I finally got my profit line on the positive but am still down like 15 buy-ins in EV. Brutal Brutal month. Went through a really rough stretch for a few weeks there with confidence/finances etc.
Here's where I think a huge problem lay: In early June I moved my office (laptop) from my bedroom/desk/sick computer chair, all to the living room. I recently had a roomie move in (fellow FTR grindstar) and we had been playing side by side for the most part. My concentration had been off bigtime, with a TV in the room available at all times, multiple people in the room now, talking about hands and what not during the session... lead me to play really poorly. So I set back up in the bedroom and have been running good and have been playing better at the same time. What might have actually happened is that I'm playing better because I'm running better :s lol who the fuck knows for sure.
Anyways, current goal is to pay off my credit card debt asap. Would like to have it taken care of by the end of August.
Still not smoking, cooking a lot, working out more than ever. Oh and I scored a sick goal at footy on Sunday! :D

Hero???? I'm torn between folding/calling/shoving. I think calling is the worst option however.
Hand 2:
Villain is a break-even mega tabling superfish. We've had a lot of odd play against each other recently and am pretty sure that my line is horrible.

I don't play FR nor your stakes, but shouldnt we be two barrelling this turn to get vallue from 77-JJ that are floating like always. Theres also a FD out there and SCs could be in his PF range especially if he feels the limper will call allowing him to have positional advantage in a multiway pot.
I'd Bet fold turn and check call river.
Of course your recent history my dictate otherwise such as floating tendencies, and what type of hands he calls IP with. But if hes a megatabling breakeven player, we won't be getting bluffed by worse on the turn.
Add to this I'm a newb whos down 12buyins at 50nl :)
GL with staying off the smokes and working out
You analysis is completely correct and thanks for the support.
you have ~33% equity vs QQ/KKxd, AA, AKxd/AdQx. call turn/decide river. SB is capable of having random hands (eg TT, bluffs) in his range that further increases your equity and more importantly he can also play his range incorrectly on the river, particularly since u have position.Quote:

What are your volume plans for 2011?
I arrived in Vegas at 1am local time this morning.
Missed my first flight so I got drunk and arrived here with a hangover. Went straight to bed. I'll be here for 10 days with my friend Adrian, in the top 30 for 2010 winners online. Man I love name dropping right at the beginning of a post, although I suppose it's pointless without screen names.
Anyways, I wanted to start a trip report without starting a new thread/blog. I'll start a new one for 2011 (500k veeps with no prop bets).
Every time I go anywhere on vacation I lose a shitton of da manies right off the bat. This time I wanted things to be different so I went straight to bed with goals to begin today. After 10 days in Vegas, I'll be in Vancouver for 10 days, then back to my home in Ontario. My goals for the trip are three things:
1) Reach the 200k vpp milestone. I'm at about 180k atm so I figure about an average of only 2500 hands/day. Which works out to almost 3hrs/day. Not out of the question to be accomplished. The problem here is that my laptop, my only computer, finally went fux0rz on me 10 minutes prior to leaving my home for the trip. Thus, I'll be using Adrian's smaller laptop with no HUD. Not sure what I'll do in Vancouver as far as online goes. Playing 20k vpps during this trip may be a rediculous idea.
2) Make $1000/week live. I didn't bring a huge roll so I'll be playing the 1/2 game. I'm very confident that this goal will be attained, so long as I keep the liquor away.
3) Go to the gym and get a sweat on everyday.
I'd like to update this thread on a daily basis. It will probably turn out to be more like 5 times a week but we'll see.
Peace!
GL sir
