The Omaha was just me messing around at 10NL - I'm an omaha donk, but its so incredibly soft. Its made me decide that when I'm a much better holdem player that learning omaha should be very profitable. Nothing drastic going on really as you can see, last 1k hands at 50NL for +$125 today so that was nice. Taking into account a few SNG cashes I'm actually slightly +$EV this month, but w/e really, I'm happy if I can just get back to winning at 50NL.
BR is just over $2k (not including HU payouts ldo).
I have a couple of hands to post but I'm going to do it tomorrow morning as I can't be bothered now as I need to get on with some work. Speaking of work, I've left it all to the last minute once again, but I'm pretty confident that with a few intense days here and there I'll get it all done on time.
Then all I have to do is worry about my final exams, woooooooot.

villain is 61/11 but thats only over 20 hands so its not too meaningful but obviously hes loose and no goot. i think my cbet could have been a little bigger looking back. on the river i have just over a psb left, as does villain. question here really is bet or check? every single draw on the flop has missed (unless he has JQhh) and i assume he'd raise AK, maybe A10 pre, so I can't see how I'm beat, unless he has A8 or a weird set, both of which likely raise due to the hearts - although again no reads to certify that.
i thought my options were either bet/call ~$20 or c/c any bet he throws out. the problem with c/c seems to be that I may miss out of he checks behind some gay A, or "value" bets something like $10 with a worse hand.
this may be the longest thought process for what is more than likely a standard hand.

villain is 34/11/1.4 over 130 hands. I dont normally set mine OOP vs 1 player but lolminraises. question here is how to get value from his worse hands on the river. he has ~2/3 psb on river, do you prefer shipping it in or c/c? i assume if we check and he shoves we call? although I guess its hard for him to have flopped 2 pair as 109 and 10J are unlikely holdings.

bet a bit larger on turn and then your river is an even easier ship
hand 1: i have no idea. a c/call is probably not bad. How likely is he to call once the scare card comes out if you lead river? and if you get raised, gross.

I've also realised that I only need to hit about 4k more hands to maintain GoldStar and that's definately something I want to do for the veeeeeeeps. So over the next 4-5 days if I can fit that in I'll be happy.
I head back to Uni tomorrow morning, I don't have any more lectures but I have a fuckton of work to get done. I also have exams coming up that start on the 14th May so need to put in a lot of hours revision for them. Hopefully all will go smoothly and then by the end of the month my escape from education will be complete (provided I pass. please God let me pass (yes I know this is my hands but I'll take any help I can get)).

From about 2 weeks into this month it has been my aim to get enough veeeps on stars to maintain GoldStar VIP status, which I reached today. Playing to reach this means I've quite often been playing for the sake of playing, when I dont feel like it, when I'm too distracted etc etc etc. As a result, its been a pretty shitty month:

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z...l2009Graph.jpg
I have had an awful lot going on for the most part of this month, I've been writing my university dissertation which is due in on Friday (it should all be sorted by then, fingers crossed) which has pretty much stressed the tits off me. Add to that the fact that in my time away form my work I was trying to see as much of my mates as possible whilst I was home on break and there isnt much time left for poker. This resulted in me 16 - 18 tabling to get the hands in, which is something I havn't done for ages and was obviously rusty as hell at.
I dont really know what to aim for next month. I have my final exams two weeks in, so I'm going to have a lot on my plate again, and have to do a whole heap of revision for them to make sure I pass and don't come out of uni ~£20k in debt with nothing to show for it.
I think shooting for goldstar again is reasonable provided I manage my time much better, and stick to 9 - 12 tabling where I'm more comfortable. Who knows, I guess I'll just have to see how it all pans out.

tl;dr
cliff notes-
1. mate back from afghan visits
2. we gamble a lot
3. we drink a lot
4. i floor a copper and get arrested
5. we have hangover
Well I have had an eventful few days.
One of my best mates recently got back from a 6 month tour with the Royal Marines out in Afghanistan, and he came to visit me on Monday. First night he's here we decide to get hammered at my house before we take a quick trip to the casino before hitting the bars / nightclubs etc. After ~7 hours playing blackjack we realise its now too late to get into the bars (as they have shut) so we stay in the casino until about 5am, still at the same blackjack table, before we head back to mine to sleep.
Tuesday afternoon we wake up and decide to go look around the Bull Ring (shopping centre in Birmingham) to see if theres anything we like the look of - mainly women ldo. Decide we cant be arsed once we get there so go for a pub lunch, sink a few pints and he thinks going to the casino is a great idea, I really dont think its a good plan at all. So we get to the casino at like 2:30pm and stay there until about 6pm, during which time I manage to lose all the money in my wallet, about £180, and he manages to make about £100. Then we head back to mine to watch the Man U - Arsenal match.
(WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE gg you farking gooners)
After that we get absolutely trashed at mine before we go out into town. We find a bar selling double vodka red bulls for £2 and stay there for 2 hours or so. I think I managed to get through about 10 in this time. Then we meet some girls and get a taxi with them to another bar. I soon get thrown out of the 2nd bar for being aggressive towards a bouncer who seemed to think I was too drunk to be in there anyway, and the police are called. I essentially call the cop a cunt and tell him to fuck off. Now im not normally aggressive, but the cop then tries to manhandle me onto the floor without giving me any warning or anything, or without asking me to leave, so I drunkenly decide Im having none of it and pwn his scrawny ass, leaving him on his back and me laughing, asking what he was trying to do.
He calls for back up. Which arrives in the form of a riot van.
So there were already 2 policemen, and now another 4 have arrived. Im a pretty big guy (6ft 5, ~210lbs), but this still seems so excessive. Im laughing so hard as they climb out the van and walk towards me, as if the 1st bloke had wanted to arrest me, all he'd have to do was say it and Id have been no bother at all, but Im not having him wrestle me onto the floor. So they come walking towards me and one has handcuffs ready, so its inevitable, and I turn my back to them and put my hands behind my back. I get handcuffed. Then, they cunt who tried to wrestle me realises I cant fight back and ruin him again, so with the help of some other office, literally lifts me off my feet by my handcuffed arms (which fwiw really fucking hurts) then throws me onto the floor of the van. I get taken to the station, go through all the bullshit and spend a night in the cells. I get woken up at like 8am and Im told that Im being given an £80 fixed penalty for being Drunk and Disorderly.
We spend all of Wednesday feeling incredibly hungover, sitting in front of the TV basically talking about how the 1st cop who came over to me was really being a prick - but how i also wasnt helping myself in any way at all.
Oh wow.
You're a brummy? I never knew...
I'm at University in Birmingham, so I wouldn't call myself a brummy. You nearby?Quote:

Just a quick update:
Ive been revising for my exams now that my mate who was visiting has left. I wasn't sure I'd have time at all for poker - but I've found that if I revise for a couple of hours and then play a small (~1k) poker session, my mind is in pretty decent shape as I start playing having been concentrating for a while already.
A couple of times this month I've sat at the 50NL HU tables on stars with players I judge to be fish (< 100bbs ldo) and I havn't played much at all but it's gone ok. I think for now though, I'm going to be doign less of this as it's just soemthing else I'd need to put effort into learning, which I havn't really got the time for (and I cant be arsed).
So far this month I've played 4.6k at 50NL and I'm +$244 which is nice. I also cashed in a $5 MTT last night but unfortunately that was only for $36 despite finishing 43/4.3k. I took the 10k fpp $160 bonus on stars, and am currently working towards a $120 deposit bonus too. I'm shooting for 3k vpps this month, so that I receive 70k bonus vpps next month (such a sick farking promo). With those its very likely I'll make Supernova this year, which is pretty much ridiculous.
All in all, things seem to be going gooot.
Hands - 4624
Winrate - 10.57bb/100
Bonus - 1553/2400
Vpp Target - 713/3000
Fucking UK... ;) Nice work sir! Pwn them feesh
ya damnit, sick sick bonus. I have to grind 5 more months to hit it and you gonna just have it handed to ya :D
ass
So today I hit 50k hands at 50NL so I figure now is a good time to post my stats so those of you out there who know what I should be doing differently can hopefully let me know. I'm also going to post this in the FR Forum as it'll get 1,2, maybe 150 times the views it'll get here.

I play 12 - 18 tables. Just so people dont have to ask. Thanks in advance guys!!
I'm not especially in the know in regards to fullring stats but nh on the graph.
Nice stats, I'd probably open a lil wider from the HJ tho. Other then that, I'm a lil sauced atm, so... yea lol. :) Nice garf
Impressive! Good grinding.
nice work
The one thing that jumps out to me is if you'd just auto-fold your big blind, you'd only lose about -11BB/100 @ full ring versus your -34BB/100. That would be an automatic 2/3rd improvement with your profit and win-rate.
Obviously, that's probably not the best strategy to just fold, but it looks like you're losing too much money there. It's hard to say what to do differently because your VPIP is pretty low @ 13% - maybe drop it down even lower and play it even more aggressively. Somehow your small blind, which should be harder to play, has a higher VPIP but you aren't losing as much. You seem a little more aggressive from small blind, though.
So my BR hit 3k yesterday after a string of fairly decent 50NL sessions this month. I took a day off from revision today, as my next (and final) exam isn't until Tuesday so I have all weekend to go over the stuff for it, and decided I'd try my hand at 100NL FR. I know the general consensus seems to be that 100NL = ~4k, but I figured I have 30BIs and I have no issue whatsoever with dropping back to 50NL if my BR drops to $2.5k.
So I upgraded HEM from Small Stakes to Professional Version and decided I'd 4 table 100NL FR for a while, for the first time ever. First ever hand I choose to play at 100NL:

MP2 was unknown but had min 3bet the previous hand and showed 55 after the PFRer folded. So I figured he was retarded. After this hand happened I'll admit I was pretty much convinced I was going to get pwned even though it was a flip for half a stack. Fortunately, I was only playing 4 tables and had the time to realise I was being a nob, so I put my game face back on and carried on.
I dont know if it was because of me only being at 4 tables, or if I was paying more attention because it was my first 100NL session, but the fish at the tables really really stuck out. Honestly, I ran really well - getting good hands preflop and making decent hands postflop. Once I noticed who the donks were I think I played a few alright hands vs them:
UTG had been limp/calling a lot so I was pretty sure he'd be coming along, and the SB was playing a lot of hands too. I figured my hand would be relatively easy to play in a multiway pot given that I have the BTN

This hand was vs. a different fish, who loved being aggro vs the PFRer on the flop, and had been donking / raising cbets a fair bit. Up until now, nobody had played back at him so I didn't want to 3bet the flop as I have no idea what he's continuing with. When he checks the turn it seems he either has a draw or some weak made hand that I have beat. Looking back I think I need to bet this turn harder

Overall, I played 515 hands for +$243. I was going to try 4 table another 500 hands or so this evening, but the beer in the corner of my room caught my eye so there goes that idea.
My BR is actually at $3,252 but $500 of it is here and there at the minute (although it will be back in at the end of this month). I also still have the $360 for the noob HU MTT, but don't worry, I havn't been including that in my BR. That said, it seems like now is the time to post this -
http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z...kMilestone.jpg
Epic work sir. That beer can definitely get in the way of grinding. :)
Can't wait to see you whooping ass when I get back from boot. Good luck while I'm gone dude.
nice rollll :D
So after my first session at 100NL going really well, the next day I played shitty during two session, and ended up down a BI. I was pretty annoyed with myself as I really didn't feel like playing but for some reason I did anyway. Made a load of shitty preflop and flop calls - was ultimately just a bit of a pay off wizard.
I 4 tabled today for ~2 hours, getting in 620 hands for a profit of $417. Best day ever, so shipitshipitshipit imo!!!!! Clearly I'm on a bit of a heater, but I also think that I was able to get so much value from my big hands because I'd recognised who the fish were, and more importantly, as I was only 4 tabled, actually picked up some reads. Seriously kids, try it.
After posting my 50k @ 50NL stats in the FR forum, Spenda pretty much told me to stop nobbing about nitting it up and to drop some tables. I was planning on doing this on moving up anyway to get settled, but now I think I'll keep it up for much longer. The main reason for this? Note taking. I honestly think that in my first 1.5k hands at 100NL I've taken more notes than I did in the previous 50K hands at 50NL.
So anyway, like I said, it's obvious I'm running into a load of good spots with big hands vs. the weaker players, but 4 tabling is helping me focus on exploiting them more + it also makes me feel more comfortable in spots with the regs (so far. I think I'm definately going to need to work on 3bet pots as there seems to be a lot more of them).
Here is the pretty:

I will get round to posting some hands later this evening hopefully. But right now I need fooooooood!!
woot sauce, sir. woot sauce.
So I guess this Op is complete as I had my last University exam today and that is my course done and dusted. Feels kinda weird - the 3 years have gone really fast and having been looking forward to finishing for so long, now I have no idea whats going to happen. Guess we will have to wait and see!!
I started this Op on January 8th, so I guess to round it all up I'll go ahead and post how I've done so far this year. Seems pretty sick that I was at 10NL back in January and have now just hit 2k hands at 100NL (FWIW the sick heater continues, +7BI as you will see). So here it is:

I'd like to say thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way (I can't really list names (besides Muzzard, tyvm sir) as I never actually talk to anyone, but I read all your posts. So thanks for making them so good). I will get round to starting a new OP before the end of this month, but for now, it is time to PARRRRRRRRTAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Thanks guys.
Congrats on all the accomplishments
Congrats on the results , and its been an interesting read .As I've just started 10NL this month its inspiring to see that you have made it tp 100NL in a relatively short time frame.
