As far as the Ong hate goes, I wasn't really trying to hate, just was pointing out that you probably have more power over how people treat you than you think. Crying about it when you're the butt of a joke is probably not the best way to get people to cut it out. Not really sure when the hate on Ong bandwagon got its wheels, but it's rollin right on along.
Maybe I am a hypocrite, but I do believe there is a valid reason for taking offense to one person using a word over another. Wuf and I agree on a ton of stuff and that includes race issues ftmp. Like you said, we don't need to relive dead threads, but suffice to say that me and you don't really see eye to eye on many race issues. So Wuff has earned some credits that allow me to think nothing of the jokes he makes, because I'm pretty confident I know how he actually feels about the issues being joked about. That shit is reserved for socioeconomic policy that systemically pits peoples against each other and class warfare.
As far as relations with people go, you gotta play it safe with rhetoric. The sensitivity is strong, regardless of source and reason. When skirting the line, you gotta make sure to not skip over it. The fact that sensitivity exists is reason enough for respecting it.
