Am I just a big puss?

I have been playing online for 8 months. I have gotten my BR up to $2700 mostly from bonus whoring and playing 5 and 10 dollar SnGs (thank u FTR). Lately I have put in many sessions four tabling 25$ NL on party clearing all the recent bonus offers (thanks party). Now I admit i dont destroy this level but the last three bonuses I have cleared I finished at least 50$ up on top of the 100 or 150 bonus cash. My play is getting better and better as my confidence increases. ie playing his cards not just my cards; attacking weakness; calling modest raises with speculative hands preflop etc. I feel very comforatable at the current level I am playing. So now the problem : GREED. I want to win more. I want to take that next step. Question is what is it? Play more 20+2 SnGs (I have played a grand total of two thus far) Or play some higher stakes NL 50? I have worked hard to build this roll and want to see it grow faster and play at a level where Im not play scared. i keep reading about players playing "outside their BR" I think I have the exact same problem just on the other end of the spectrum. Any thoughts are appreciated even derogatory ones.

50 nl is much harder than 100 nl. You'd probably enjoy less variance moving up in SnGs, but but I think you could make the jump fron 25 nl to 100 nl more easily then the jump from 10 sngs to 50 sngs.

Seriously, you have a plenty big bankroll for NL 50, even NL 100. Try out a few sessions - play pretty tight at first and see how you like it. You'll either immediately know you're out of your depth, or you'll realize it's not different enough to warrant the worry.

I've heard it said many times that 100NL is an easier game than 50NL. It seems to be accepted as fact. What are the reasons behind this?

All the players that win at 25 now play 50. It's a lot of rocks. Its not "harder" than 100, it's just slower. At 100, you see the mistakes you love like over playing top pair and people convinced their pocket pair TT is good on a J99Kx board. Mistakes that just arnt as common at 50 nl.

Hey 'rilla, are you talking about all NL 50, or just full ring? I've noticed the full rings are pretty rock-like, but you can still get good action at the NL 50 6 max tables on Party. Just today I was on a table with two nutbags constantly trying to bluff each other and everyone else out of basically every pot - they had middle pair or worse most of the time, and dumped $40 on me in about 15 minutes.

Also I saw a comment from you earlier... are you not playing 6 max any more? I'm considering the leap up to 100 NL 6 max soon, but I'd like to hear from someone who's actively playing it.

This intrigues me...I had heard someone say before that 100NL was much harder than 400NL, but never this comparison.

Anyway, I'm one of those rocks, but my game is (was) expanding a bit.

My roll is okay for 100NL, but I'm still in the midst of a big downswing. Anyone mentioning "easy" games is getting my attention...

I'm also sort-of in this boat of wanting to step up the game a little bit. Any words of warning?

I did in my earlier post (??)

I haven't played 50 full ring, 6max, 100 full ring, 6max ect in a while. So I might be running on old information. But my winrate was distinctly higher in 100 nl then it was is 50 nl. I was running 20 BB/100 at 100 nl and 14 at 50 nl.

But this was was several months ago.

No, just before party changed to 100 bb format, I had made the jump to full table only. It was a mixture of my inability to successfully 3 table 6max and the fact that the 200 nl tables were as high as the 6max tower went. I haven't played 6max for a while.

Why is NL$50 harder than NL$100? You stated it's because of the rocks moving up from NL$25 to $50 and making it tight. So then where are the NL$100 players coming from if not from successful players at the NL$50 level?

I think that's the info that is missing. Not what makes the NL$50 players so tight, but what makes the NL$100 players so loose.

I mean if you say $100 is easier than $50 I believe you, but can you elaborate a little more?

I could see the difference between 50 and 100 being due to the wealthier fish coming in at that level. I mean, why is an executive or someone who's got loot gonna start at $25 NL?

I could theorize but again, I feel I may be running off old data. There's gotta be someone who's played 50 and 100 nl recently to throw their opinions in the ring.

My profit was lower at 50nl becuase it was comprised of all the rocks that you had to squeeze for every cent. It was a long and drawn out process with very little variance, as I recall. 100 nl was comprised of looser and slightly more aggro players. You can trap more aggro players and the pots are bigger by default. The player base was still pretty bad since it didn't take much to win at 50 and there might be others factors like people who deposit to play at the 100 nl tables.

50NL sucks ass at party, its so rocklike and hard to get action. 100NL (at least 6max) is so damn juicy - I'd do it soon. Just get ready for terrible I mean HORRIBLE flush chasers, shortstacks, bluffers, and other cheesy fish - especially at paradise. I think its just that 25NL brings the casual gamblers and 100NL brings gamblers who want a little bit higher stakes - 50NL gets skipped for some reason.

I played a 50 buyin sng on ps if that's what you're talking about. My opponent was quite difficult, and I'm trying to take a broader perspective here since that was also my first ever night of realmoney poker :P He was loose maniac aggressive of course, but more so than anything I've experienced. I had him pinned down by actually taking an even more aggressive stance (may have been card luck), but became over-excited and accidently semi-bluffed 2000 chips - as opposed to like 200 that I should have - which obviously knocked me out in one blow.
Not really relevent to the topic at hand I suppose, and it's only a single guy - but bare in mind this was part of my first ever session and I believe I could have won.

And may I say, I'd really appreciate 31c on pokerstars as IbsuBaiHui (to put me on $1). I can't get any money via my bank without security codes that are at home. I can play steady on .5/1 and 1/2 but would be more than happy just to be back on micro right now.

I found 25~100nl 6max relatively same in opponent's skill level.
200nl is where you see guys check minraise your continuation bet with flush draws.
