KK running into a set...

I thought this guy had Q's or J's... and some reason i still bet into him on the turn. Evaluate this please..

I would of folded if I hadn't had a read on him. 2 hands ago he went all in with J8 gut shot straight draw.

The move here was going all-in after his re-raise on the flop. But that's just my opinion. And that involves my read.

there was no raise on the flop. it was your responsibility to protect your hand on the flop with a pot sized bet. betting $3 into a $4.25 pot with a coordinated board is, as you say, "gay."

3/4 pot bet is not a weak bet, and it still gives them bad odds. plus there is no strait and a doubtful flush because he called such a large preflop raise. I dont see any reason to panic here.... and he definitely would of drawn out with that hand anyways. Im not sure if that really would of made any difference.

Do you really expect NL25 players to fold their Axs to 8xBB? Even AKs and KQs?

when I read the HH I put him on a 5.

I don't know, the big raise on the turn was a huge flag. . . you've just got 2 pair and there's possible trips on the board AND a flush draw.

Hard to put down KK, particularly with the earlier read. . . but it IS a vulnerable hand.

what are u talking about? what do any of these comments mean... I haven't seen one solid answer yet..

By this I think that you mean you would want these hands to fold. Which would leave what hands to call JJ QQ KK and AA? Those are pretty slim pickins. I'll be happy to have Aces call my kings and lower pocket pairs. 8x bb is a very good bet shorthanded in 25 NL. Half the time you won't get any callers. I make sure to find a table that will limp in and then call raises like this because I know I will have the best hand. If an ace falls so be it I can let it go.

Ok, I was incredibly committed to this pot on the turn. It cost me 10 dollars at this point on a good size pot, one where I will have the upper hand quite a bit of the time on pp. I thought I was beat but I was required to call at this point.

That's a real tough hand. Maybe overbet the pot on the flop. If it gets called he's probably got an overpair or A5. Then the c/r on the turn screams QQ or A5. You reraised a c/r without the nuts? I hate KK & AA for this very reason, ultra-hard to lay down when you're beat and don't know it. At some tables I think A5s would've called your PFR, but what to do? Bet 20x BB? I dunno
