Say u have q/q 2/2/j comes off then a scare card k/a on turn, this is after u made a nice bet at it on the flop. Do u check or bet? If ur late of course ud probably bet to a check, but say ur first position etc.
What to do when these scare cards come off? I guess this goes for flushes also.

in an agressive table, somebody would pounce on a check and bet right.
at a tight table you might still be able to take the pot
a loose table is the tricky one for me.
I'd probably still bet and be weary of a call, fold to a raise.
Depending on the situation and you bet preflop you could represent a full house, even if the other person hit a higher pair, they would probably think twice if you bet more on the turn.
Well, what do you think they have? lets say you are under the gun. you make a healthy 6xBB raise, with one caller. Loose aggressive guy has about four times your stack. you the pot on the flop and he calls. Given that, i'd guess he called with junk looking to gamble. probably cought his jack, and put you on AK-AQ or some such. It's remotely possible he called with A2, for the trips, but unlikely. check the turn, let him raise you all in then call, or just push...Quote:

Unless they're making a play at you, or they got a fantastic flop (they have the 2) you're ahead. no reason to slow down in most circumstances. maybe it's an AK that he couldn't let go of.. but i doubt it. maybe it's a A 2... but i doubt it. bet hard all the way
If I have QQ and 22J pops up after I gave a healthy preflop raise, then all my chips will be in the middle by the time the turn hits. I don't see 22J as a scare board with QQ in hand. There shouldn't be any 2's out there, and you have the J dominated.
I don't mean to bust on your example. Perhaps I'm eluding the meat of the point, so I'll give a different scenerio...
If I have QQ in hand and A 8 K pops, then that's a different story. I would check this flop and fold to a raise. It's not worth the massacre.
I'd fire again, probably 2/3 the pot. What do you call a big pre flop raise with? A pocket pair hoping for the set seems most common. If they think, the've got you on overcards. they don't know you don't have A K. If the call the turn then i'd probably slow down. In general, you raised pre flop. You get to claim the ace until someone tells you otherwise. Maybe even a check raise if they seem to have a clue.Quote:
