Whats wrong with my up and down

Ok I been playing NO Limit on pokerroom.com(MAC USER) and have found that I wasn't playing the game I should and was always trying to slow play and get burnt on the river all the time and I hate that site.....

Also found that it was way harder to bluff when I was playing .25-.50 so I and move to .50-.1 and found that I I really didn't know how to play, read a book and thought that it didn't help and was new to this game.... and my heart was pounding when I knew I won... and screaming when I had a bad beat But I invested alot @ pokerroom with no return...

I stop for a bit and just started to play live games and was wining and tried to do it up again and play online again....

So I up my game now and only got a $25 BONUS from partypoker.com without knowing the hund that they where offering... So I sat down trying to find the NL table and found a sit and go and didn't realize and won it. LOL... OK OK easy stuff so I built my bankroll up to like 500 and then take the bad beats and go down all the way down to my 100 hundred deposit... GO back up to 600 and then all the way down again to nothing... Invested another 100 and get it back to 600 in like 2 days and then back to 100... Invested another 100 my last attempt to try to make some money playing online so I start off and take two big chops to put me back @ 300 and have to work it back up to 600. Got it back to 450 and found this site about getting BONUS..... So I went to Absolute poker trying to get back some BONUS or free money and realize that there BONUS suxs cause they only give 10 buxs @ a time.... SO I'm @ 700 gonna put it somewhere else and fold my JJ, AA, if I know if im beat......

But I have found that when I play @ the 200NL I make money fast and feel that I have more control and I play less hands and I see that I don't get burnt to often when people play junk hands... currenly I play .50-1 still and wondering if I have a bank roll to be able to play @ the 200NL... Oh ya Im gonna try out empire...... any advise would be great and hope you enjoy the long read :p

You need to read 'rilla's bankroll management post. Here it is:

Sure you make money fast playing NL 200 but you lose it fast too. Bankroll management is the key to not having to redeposit. If you want to be successful playing any type of poker in the long run, you have to minimize your risk of ruin by making sure you are properly funded for the games you play. 700 dollars is far from properly funded for a 200 NL game.

There are a lot of bonuses out there to help you build your bankroll up, some sites offer better ones than others, but the bonuses don't do any good if you lose more clearing them than what the bonus is worth. Again, bankroll management.

Keep reading FTR and practice at limits within your bankroll.

Damn, i thought my swings were bad...

I'm still pretty wet behind the ears here, but i'll offer my opinion anyway...

I've found that by limiting the amount i'm prepared to lose in one session, i limit my swings GREATLY, for instance, i play the $25NL rooms on PP, and if i lose $10, i take a break for however long, simply to avoid tilt, and the crazy chasing that goes along with it when you're down.

Something that stuck out in my head from Super System 2, was when Mike Caro stated that "money won, and money not lost are the same", meaning that if you can quit when you're down (and pscholgically not able to play at your best, causing you to lose MORE money) instead of tilting and chasing your losses, you'll be able to get MUCH better control of your down swings.

I agree in a general sense, but when it comes to ME, i've found that doing it that way has benefited me greatly. I'm sure it's because i'm relatively new at this and i'm severly lacking the discipline, but so far, it's working. Also, it's not that i'm not willing to risk the buy in on one had, if i'm plahing NL, i'm ready to push if the situation arises, i was saying if i'm losing pot after pot and i'm down $10.

I'm not suggesting he adopt my numbers, just saying that he should attempt to find a low point at which he will get up and walk away for a bit.
