What do you think of this play?
Over New Year's I was in Vegas and somehow found myself in the pokerroom at Luxor.
On this one particular hand, this kid, who was a bit of a chaser, went all-in UTG, much to the chagrin to the rest of the table. It was a "Why did you have to go and do that for?" sentiment.
Anyway, one guy took one for the team and called with AQ. The kid had pocket 9's. The guy got his ace and took the hand, but that's not the point. I think that was a rather ballsy move by that kid. It immediately put everybody to the test.
What does everybody else think?

It's a terrible play in a ring game against reasonable players. The range of hands that will call will either be slight underdogs or huge favorites, making it -EV.

Well, since he seems to suck and is gonna lose all his chips anyway, he might as well just push it in and get out of there:). And he could catch a 9 and double up:).
