If you have :8c: :8d: in texas hold 'em and the flop shows :qs: :ah: :5s:
There are two overcards on the board - the :qs: :ah: which are higher in value than your :8c: or :8d: individually.
Similarly, if you have :Ac: :Kd: and the flop is :Td: :7h: :2c: you have 2 overcards.
cheers mate understand it now
can you show an example what an overpair is?
and an example of a toppair?
thanks
*scratch*
Can you make an educated guess?
We don't name these to trick you. :P
-'rilla
sorry
i read the description of toppair and overpair , but not understanding it..i am new
thanks
If the flop is :2c: :9d: :jd: and you hold :jc: :kh:, you have made top pair because top means highest card on the board. I can't remember hearing the term overpair, but if I had to guess, I would say for the same flop, if you are holding :qs: :qh: , you have made an overpair, because no card on the board is higher than the queen - the word over denotes higher than the board.Quote:
