Pretty ballsy in my book, but you got a bigger bank roll than I do.
If you get called, you're stuck showing Jack high.
But based on the fact that they were limping along the whole time, and that you're representing the straight...
I'm guessing they both folded to your all-in bet.
Is that correct?
I always say OESDs suck if you don't hit by the turn.
I probably would have just check/folded on the turn.
After the check raise it should have given you a clue. Jack high. Reminds me of that person on WSOP in the limit holdem game. "He called me w/ Jack high" Even though you raised.
Aggressive play but I think you got called.
I don't like the play because you have 2 players still in the hand and one of them is showing strength by betting out on the flop and check raising the turn. You know they have something and you have a busted draw.
The play is good in the sense that it is the only way that you can win the pot is to force them to fold.
I don't like it, and we know you're way behind here. I'm suspecting a pair of tens, but I think more than likely a K-10. He raised on that flop with top pair. You called with the OESD. You come out representing a straight when the King hits and he smacks you back. If he didn't believe the straight when the King fell, I don't think he'll believe it when the ace falls, unless he's slowplaying a single pair.
If your opponent is of any caliber, I can't see the raise working, unless he's fearing aces up?

I was thinking the same thing, but if they bet on the flop and then checked the turn and river, I got to put the BB (the guy who bet the flop) on a pair of 10's or a pair of 8's.
I'm not sure I could call an all-in bet with a pair of 10's with a king and an ace on the board. That's why I think they would fold.
Of course, we shall soon see...
Actually, I repped that I was on a different straight draw than the one I had. When BB check-raised, I counted down the pot (and made it obvious I was doing so) and then called.Quote:

I had given my opponents too much credit. Based on their previous plays, I had put SB on a straight draw and BB on a PP, possibly having flopped a set.
As it turns out, they are both calling stations, and I feel they both played their hands terribly, which led them to make frustration calls.
Thoughts?
I made a similar mistake 2 or so days ago constantly bluffing the unbluffable. I think you need to pay a little bit more attention of the table, these people often reveal themselves quickly.

How in the hell did the SB check after getting the top 2-pair on the turn and river? Especiallly if he claims he didn't realize a straight was possible?

From my perspective, I put the BB on two pair (though I was thinking 10-8) by his bets on the flop and turn. On the flop, it looks like he was throwing out a bet to see if anybody else had hit a hand/had a drawing hand, so that he could check-raise on the turn. I have a fairly loose calling station in my home game that does the same thing, so that gave me a lil' insight, at least. Based on my reads, I like your play on the flop and turn, though I would've folded to the re-raise. Against fish like that, it's almost impossible to convince them you have the hand you're repping, and even if you do convince 'em, they'll still make the call with any hand.
No idea what the SB was doing. He was playing his hand pretty passively the whole way through, so he could've had anything.
In general, I think you're right. Betting into the callers is a bad habit of mine. But in this particular tourney, I had not showed down a hand yet; the few that I had won were folded to me after I made a huge bet on the flop or the turn, whether I had a hand or not -- even on the river once, I think. I even bluffed this AK joker out once.Quote:
