Etiquette issue...
if there is such a thing? I was in a MTT last night at some "club" at the final table. I'm in MP with about 6500 in chips Blinds at 1000/2000 antes 100. I'm thinking it might be time to go soon if I don't catch something so I'm thinking blind-steal.
Unfortunatly UTG1 decides to raise to 4000. I got A-Jo in the hole and I look at this guy, someone who I just met that night and we actually hit it off real well talking about poker stratagies and stuff, and I talk some friendly smack telling him "you wanna dance we can dance" as I push all-in.
My thought here was he's gonna fold just by looking at his face. Unfortunatly again the button decides to go all-in as well fo his remaining 6000...now here is where the etiqutte issue comes in.
I have no problem with what the guy on the button did, however his friend had a serious problem with it saying to him stuff like "you idiot what are you he's all in, are you a moron...and blah blah blah before we all flip over. UTG calls because of the amazing pot-odds now. So we got 3-way action and a backseat driver just talking all sorts of crap.
Then UTG flilps over 2's, me my A-Jo, and the button A-10o. And has we flip the buttons friend just ripped into him "you see you screwed yourself you dumbass and blah, blah, blah." So I'm like thinking in my head this guys a real jerk, he's not in the hand have a little respect. Although none of that mattered in the end cause the dueces held up and me going on my merry way in 9th with top 5 paying out of 50. It really pissed me off being knocked out but more so the guy being a jerk, it just left a bitter taste in my mouth. :(

So you played with a talkative ass. Not ideal, but his kind is part of the game. We have all seen someone who tells the poker table he is best and how everyone else should have played their hands.
He's not breaking any laws, but I hope you re-examined the "friendship" you had created with him.
There are poker etiquette rules.
Don't bluff into a dry pot (a 0 pot)
Don't show your cards, even in a "legal" way
Keep your complaining to yourself
etc

Hump the "friendship" doesn't need any examining because I didn't have a problem with him...I had the problem w/ the backseat driver talking smack to his friend when he wasn't even in the hand.
The don't show your cards thing though is kinda of funny cause I never do it but I LOVE IT when other people show their hand. It just gives me more information about that player's style and more incentive to bring him down.
rilla don't worry I''l always bluff it wet never dry :)
