question about making money at different type of tables

Hello,
when studying my results (i´m only playing Hold´em) at the tables i have noticed following thing.
I´m usually profibale overall but it tends to be from one type of table at time for examplemaybe i´m doing very well on max6 table 1/2 limit and the resluts from fulltable limit ring game and sitngos drop. than i usualy refocus and can be profitable at example sitngo but have a drop in ringgames. I seem to be totaly bad at mixing NL ringgames with any other type of tables.

So my question is does anybody else has these problems and do you have a solution for this .

Right now my solution is to focus on one type at the time and this works for me but than when i switch to an other type of game i usually lose a litle before starting to winn.

Personally I’m not a fan of low limit Hold’em, I prefer no limit games. I can play both however my game strategy is completely different for each type table. In limit I don't try to "put a play" on some one as much unless the limits are way up there in a tourney... In low limit ring games as you described you get "calling stations" that will run you down to the river and make you prove you have the best hand, I guess you can say "poker cop". However in no limit you have the wonderful thing of no betting structure so one or two well played bets (if you have a hand or not, against a stronger player) can win you the pot... If you run into a "calling station" in no limit make them pay for it, make them pay to out draw you... This is how strong players suffer bad beats, In no limit you want to get your money in when you have the best of it and protect it when you don't, no limit you have to be sharp pretty much 100% the whole time, one hand can make you go broke, in limit you can make a mistake or two and not have it hurt you as much... My opinion i would stick to one type of game or the other... Even some pros can't play both types of tables strongly they can't same to switch there styles to the type play each one demands... I hope this helped somewhat, i know it was a lot of rambling but that's my two cents...

this is the case with me as well.

all sudden, i've turned into the NL SNG dumbass, but i feel like my limit game is coming together.

mixing limit and NL at the same time doesn't seem to work for me. however, i feel like playing omaha or stud mixed with holdem has been useful. it seems to get me thinking about holdem in a different (but good) way.

i even notice dramatically difference performance between levels - e.g. i've always done better at $20 NL HE SNG's than the $10 SNG's.

the solution i think: experience, and 'lots of hands of everything. :lol:

also, can someone send the link to DBS that has the "special" URL that allows you to view FTR when it's blocked - my elderly mind can't remember who posted it. :oops:

Sorry. Reading you're post made me imitate Mattias Anderson. I love hearing Swedes talk. They have the coolest accents. Much nicer than people from Boston, Mass. :P

And I too find it difficult to concentrate on two types of games at once. So unless it's low limit NL (.05/.10) , I'm usually in a SNG frame of mind.

I just started playing hold em poker a couple of days ago and signed up with empire poker after reading through this website and doing a bit of basic research.

Not including the bonus's for joining up I've made $31 on my first night playing on $1-50c limit tables and $25 no limit tables.

I find there are more idiots at the limit tables that will just pay off everytime no matter how bad their hand or how obvious it is you have a good one. They just keep going through stacks or $25.

On the no limit tables I find I have to be very very patient and fold a couple of good draws before you get a big pay off. You really have to be on your game.

I didnt expect to be up after my first night of playing but there are a lot of people playing who are a lot worse than me...


Ps I've been playing quake2 for the past 7 years and am probably the best player in Australia. If only I had been learning poker all that time...
