Here is where the debate was, Player 2 has a 10 kicker, player 1 has a 8 kicker. But player 2 says the kicker is on the board, the 10..

Can a "kicker" be on the board? I thought kicker is always a hole card?
there are 5 community cards and 2 hole cards in which to make the BEST 5 card hand

The kicker can play either from the board or your 2 card hand.
Best 5 card hand. Doesn't matter if all 5 come from the board, or 3 from the board and 2 from you hand, or 4 from the board and 1 from your hand. And in holdem, suits don't matter in out-ranking.Quote:

But sometimes I wish we could count a good 6 card hand. 3 pair beats 2 pair. 2 trips beats a full house. Those hands are so rare, I sometimes wish I could get paid for them.

And . . . . if its the best five card hand .... and each player has a set (same set), and there is an A on the board ... both players would have a set with an A kicker ...... then do you look to the fifth card as a secondary kicker of sorts?

In your first case Player 2 wins: 666Ax vs 666Kx
In your second case Player 1 wins: 666AK vs 666AQ
So . .

Player 2: 52

I was playing that they would split with A high and not go any further.

They would split because the best 5 card hand is on the board. Both players hole cards do not come into play in this situation.
However if the 9 on the board was a 3, then player 1 would win because of the 7.
I see ..... (the 9 should have been a 3 for my question to make sense .... I'm retarded)
Simon, I think your getting confused with the "kicker". Don't look at it as a kicker .....just best 5 cards.....
