What do you guys buy in for when playing holdem? If I am playing limit holdem, I like to bring 25-30 BB with me to the table. For NL, it depends on the game. At Party where they have a max buy-in I like to have the max. At a casino or other sites where they have a minimum buy-in, I like to have 3-4x the minimum buy in. How about you guys?
2/4 limit $100
3/6 limit $200
5/10 limit $3-400
10/20 limit $5-600
NL Max Buy in usually $300
Limit I like to sit with 20BB's. That gives me enough that I can get a feel for the table. If i'm losing alot then either i'm doing something wrong or the table is too tough and I'm not adjusting ot it. Once I get a feel for the table I'll reload also If I drop to 10BB's due to chasers or tough beats then I'll reload to 30BB's. I don't want to come up short with a big hand.
