MP was a bit loose. Would you have bet the flop? Should I have called his allin?

I have a nasty habit of insta checking to pfr the vast majority of the time when I call a raise oop, but donking this flop is probably better. This is a clear fold vs the shove unless you know he can do this with a flush draw or something like JJ/QQ. You should definitely make a note that he makes dumbass overshoves on flop when donked into, noting texture of flop.

You can probably 3b this pre if he's loose.

I don't think this is the type of question someone beating 25nl would be asking, might be a good idea to move down a level or two.

Your flop sizing is bad in that it is far too big and it's a very easy fold to shove.

I'm not sure your range is anywhere near strong enough to be leading in this spot because you are capped, you probably 3b JJ, definitely 3b KK and same with AK and a lot of other A high FDs which you probably don't lead with either. Especially when a normal MP open is going to be a fairly strong range to begin with and by donking you are losing the benefits of your relative position.

Yes you should move down. Let me tell you something about boredom. I'm still at 5nl after trying to grind my way back to 25nl after cashing out most of my BR. I feel like I'm worse at poker now than I was a few years back. I am bored to fucking death of playing 5nl poker, and it's driving me crazy. However, I am not remotely tempted to step up, because I am well aware that if I cannot beat 5nl, then I cannot expect to beat higher levels, and stepping up will surely result in me going broke quicker. I could fire more funds into my account, I could be playing 25nl again in just a few minutes. But it would be stupid. I know that I am much better off treading water at 5nl while I try to figure out why I suck more than I used to.

If you want to chase losses at higher stakes, you are gambling. Just be aware of that distinction. While I might suck right now, I haven't loaded up funds into my account since my very first transfer into pokerstars. I've withdrawn thousands over the years. I am not gambling, because the money in my stars account is pure profit and will always remain so as long as I can avoid having to relaod funds. Maybe you should make that your goal - to never have to load up funds again. Then you're not gambling anymore.

It's hard to say without villain reads. Here's where a HUD is extremely useful. If only we knew how often villain cbets, I could answer this question more accurately. Lacking reads I generally check my entire range over.

what other hands would you donk here? how are you playing each of them to a raise?

I think you made the right fold, don't think hes throwing $30 to win $6 with garbage.... but you never know right?

Easy/mandatory fold to shove. I hate getting blown off hand here when we're basically near the top of our preflop flatting range on this texture. We don't have a ton of hands in this spot we're happy to play a huge pot with so I wouldn't try to bloat it by leading here (barring an unusual read).

I've been reading quite a few posts lately and I'm usually not sure that I can add anything. But, I am THE expert on one aspect of this post. I am the king of destroying my bankroll by moving up too soon, either because I am on a ridiculous tilt from a bad session and I am going to win it all back right away by moving up. Or, I've done well for a few weeks and I decide to start climbing the ladder to "real winnings" even though my bankroll cannot support it. The worst part is that it often works for a while. But, sooner or later, I get AA cracked or KK will run into AA several times during a session. I panic because 3 or 4 buy-ins at the new level seems like a huge amount. "I have to win it back. I'll play more aggressively!" You get the idea.

As a result, I just spent several weeks rebuilding my bankroll by playing 2nl and then 5nl. I have wasted an entire year of poker with this cycle. The one good thing about that is that I am able to improve my play every time I am forced back down. Playing at a level that is very comfortable for your bankroll affords you a freedom to really work on things.

In other words, I could not agree more with the suggestion to drop down. Just consider the time you spend working on your game at 2nl as an investment. It will definitely pay off. Playing at a level that you are uncomfortable with, or at which the regs are much better than you will really hinder your development.

And, as for the hand, if the MP is loose/aggro and has any normal Fold to 3bet stats, I am probably squeezing here. I would have to know some stats of both players as well as any pertinent recent table action. But, that's just me.

If we're donking into PFR we have to be prepared for this.

Given the strength of donking into two players that may be perceived and this particular board, I would b/f. You might get bluffed by flushdraws sometimes, but that's the risk we face when we donk.

Just remember that the main focus on these forums tends to be more along the lines of helping people to become long-term winners instead of helping people to achieve short-term bursts of adrenaline. Do what you want, but just know that the advice that you're getting is based on the primary objective of winning as opposed to the primary objective of being excited.
