Satelites, fpp buy in tournaments, claim prices??? why??
I have for my standard a lot of points at Stars, but I don't really use them, as I don't know myself what I should use them for. I'll be following this thread myself with huge interest. Sometimes I lean to use them in the shop, then I want to use them for satellites, but then I reconsider as I think you need to use a lot of your points in those satellites :)
Well that actually depends which mtt you want to play and which satellite you register to.
I'm no expert on this, but I can let you know what I do...
I convert my FPPs straight to cash, but only when I hit Platinum star every now and then for maximum conversion (I'm usually Gold). If you're an mtt player then using the points for mtt tickets is a good idea as the conversion rate is marginally better unless you are Supernova. For me, the extra little bit of conversion rate for the mtts isn't worth it for the amount of time it would take to convert at a modest ROI (in comparison to playing cash games instead), but obviously the odd time I do play mtts at the weekend, I'll use FPPs to do so.
That said, there are some very good value FPP satellite tickets available as long as you are competent at mtts. There are some up-to-date threads on 2p2 and other forums on the issue that you should be able to find using Google. If irc, the 235FPP satellite tickets that can be converted to $$ seem to be perceived to be the best use of FPPs.
but do you suggest to save for those tickets or play satellites for tourneys?
Satellites are probably the best way to spend points, seeing as the standard of play is so bad and the goal is simly to cash, not to go deep.
I'll use my fpps for sats, annual mtts like the micromillons main event, and sometimes the storm and other ten bucks mtts.
Seen a few shirts that I liked, so I used some fpp's to get them. I feel I spent enough time grinding
tables with enough success, that I do not feel I need to reinvest my fpp's in more tournaments.
That's rather like saying "Hey my business is making enough money already, so I don't need to invest more". Your fpp points are rakeback, it's pokerstars giving back money they took off you. If you like their shirts, that's cool, but to just outright dismiss your points and say no need to reinvest them, it's directly affecting your winrate. Do you play the storm? Well if so, it's costing you $11 bucks. Your t-shirt costs 1000 points, right? So you're paying more to advertise stars, around $15, than you would to play the biggest micros mtt of the week.Quote:

Haven't seen anything worth using them on even in the sales so just sitting on them, as they don't expire, and waiting to use them in the future.
Used a few when they had a cash in promotion. And bought a usb chip because I needed one at the time and fancied it, but 4gb is a bit small these days.
Tournaments or sngs are reasonable if you really want to use them, but I prefer to save them.
The parties looked good, but I wasn't able to get there at the time.
New in is the Duracell Powermat which is excellent value IF IF you have a wireless chargeable device (none exist currently) or an Iphone4 that you're prepared to leave in a special case.
So hopefully one day there will be something new that is of interest, and I would hate to miss it because I didn't have enough points left.
theres usually some novelty items you can buy on april fools day that convert to cash at the best rate
But you need to have played a lot in March as the novelty items require higher vip levels.
I invest most of my FPPs in satellites for MTT's, like the Sunday Storm or the Big $11, because I play these regularly. It always nice to play a tourney with FPPs rather than paying the full buy-in hehe :p. Moreover, the most FPP satellites I play are pretty soft.
'If' you play MTT/Sng, I think the best use for FPP's is the 235fpp satties to the Sun.Storm. Players are pretty terrible in them.
Not sure what the conversion rate is vs. just buying a Ticket to the Storm but if you've got a bit of time & are playing anyways, I think the satties are the way to go.
First thing I ever spent FPPs on was a Stars ballcap. What a f'n ripoff. Thing is a p.o.s. (wouldn't fit my 6yr. old nephew either). Never bought any clothing items after that.
My partner's got a women's leather racing jacket. They sold for 10,000 fpp's. It's still hanging in the closet wrapped in plastic... never worn (I think Storm tickets would've been better)
Used to play 235 and 70 sattelites, but it's just waste of time and convertion rate is prone to deteriorate. So now just 75 gold bonuses.
