Hola,

We recently launched version 6 of our beta Chinese Poker client and want to run our first beta tournament. The games will be played here: http://www.flopturnriver.com/chinese-poker/ (You must be logged into the forum to participate.)

There is no buy-in, the following prizes will be awarded:

1st Place: $25 Amazon Gift Card & FTR Shirt
2nd Place: FTR Shirt

Here is how it will work:

• Reply to this thread by October 8 23:59 ET if you're interested in joining the tournament. You will be added to the list of players.
• On October 9, I will reply with the bracket (matches will be created using random.org) and add the tournaments in the lobby. These will be labeled "[R1] Player A v Player B".
• All matches will be heads up.
• You will be PM'd your opponent and password for your table.
• You must contact your opponent to setup when you would like to play your match.
• All players will have a 48 hour deadline to finish their matches.
• Failure to complete your match by the deadline will result in a DQ.
• All matches will last for 10 rounds. Whoever has the highest overall total points at the end of 10 rounds advances to the next round of the tournament.
• Single elimination.
• Upon completion of your match, reply to the thread with the results.
• Once the first round is done, the next round will be announced and the same 48 hour deadline will be in place. This will continue until there are only 2 players left.

Note: In the event of scheduling conflicts, please PM me or contact me via Skype (givememyleg) and let me know the situation and we can try to work something out.

I hope we won't have to worry about DQs, but if one of the players tries to setup/contact they will not be DQ'd, only the player who no shows. To make sure you are not DQ'd, join the table ASAP after being sent your password.

NEXT ROUND and END GAME

Do NOT hit END GAME! This misclick will cause your game to end before the 10 rounds are complete. This is bad placement, and I'm working on moving it.

This beta version has some session issues. Please give us as much information as possible about the error so that our programmer can fix it faster. In the mean time, you might have to clear recent history and/or use a different browser or something.

Ok so, I can play from specator mode but not the join mode.

I hit join game in the lobby, enter the password for the prompt and then it says

Can't join this table

all white screen plain text

Hammered Baudib, he didn't win a hand. That dude just takes the most aggro position every time, backfired here, but I think if he just hit one of them it may have been different.

bikes beat eberetta1 (I didn't account when opponent wins all three hands it is 6 points. Thought I was losing 3 points several times and defending my comfortable lead with opponents 2 fouls and my first game of four of a kind in the bottom row).

Some suggestions: It would be cool if we could see what round it is on the playing screen rather than having to check in the lobby.

I know that extras aren't your priority right now since you're trying to get rid of the bugs, but when there's time, a 4-color deck would be nice. It's a little hard to tell between suits sometimes and I have to be really careful not to get them mixed up. Also, it would be extra sweet if we could see the cards the other player is peeling so that we can troll them while we're waiting for them to set :)

Overall the play was quite smooth for our match.

Our programmer is working on these session issues. I'd try clearing your recent history. If that doesn't work then a different browser might do the trick.

hm, that is odd. can you try going to http://www.flopturnriver.com/chinese-poker/lobby.php and pressing ctrl+f5 to hard refresh, then scroll down to your table (#127) and click on J to try and join? if that doesn't work, also try pressing ctrl+f5 on this page: http://www.flopturnriver.com/chinese-poker/join.php?127

I think something happened with my account in the last update because I can't send any PMs or reply to any PMs. It says I don't have sufficient permissions. Since every match is organized via PM, this might be a problem.

hm, weird. i just looked up your account in the admin control panel and i don't see anything that would prevent this. i did add you to the promoted users usergroup, maybe that will help? can you logout and back in and try again? if that doesn't work, i'll have to look deeper into your account.

I'm going to formally request an extension for my match w/ simpledude 16. My apartment windows were replaced today (well half of them), and I got very little sleep last night.

At this point, there is no time left for us to schedule a match between us. It seems to be a glitch in the system, and I'd like to preserve the integrity of the tournament by playing at my best... with more than 8 hours notice.

ok, we found the error here, there was an issue with caching and sessions within the forum. please try this:

1) logout of the forum
2) clear your cache or open an incognito window (chrome) or private window (firefox)
3) login to the forum
4) try to access your games
5) if it still says you're not logged in, press ctrl+f5 to hard refresh

the same issue was affecting others and they can get in now.

ya, that's fine. we ran into some technical issues which prevented simpledude from joining. they should be fixed now.

I don't get the KK55x hand with 3 of a suit and not putting the 2p on the back. Seems crazy to me.

Yeah, in the comments he said that he didn't even notice the 2 pr until after he hit submit.

2 pair >>> 3-flush.

3-flush is about as likely to become a flush as 2-pair is to become a full house.

Was played in that as spenda couldn't connect to the lobby that was set up.

okay, round 2 is set. PMs sent. deadline is a bit longer than 48 hours since it's the weekend, all games should be played by Monday at 20:00 ET.

I had the button next to my name during all of my round 1 matches, even though I didn't have position each time.

I noticed bigspenda and savy mention the same thing in their chat log from round 1.
