NL10-HU Good aggression or spewy?

I've played about 50 hands (.05/.10) with villain and he hasn't done anything out of line at this point and has 3 bet a few times and vice versa. I play on Bovada on a Mac and can't find a converter for mac yet so I apologize for the written hand history.

Hero (65BB)---A3 clubs
Villain (27BB)---?

He limps the button and I raise 5BB with A3 of clubs and he calls.

The flop 9Q9 with 2 diamonds and a club. I over-shove (2x pot) putting him all in.

After reviewing the hand I think it would have been better to do this on a non-suited/no-draw board like 3Q3. He can have diamonds and more likely a draw here more often than not because he limped right? I still kind of like my shove because I did get called and lose the pot, it gives me a good image to take that line or over shoving turn with great hands in the future.

Are these play profitable heads up and is my line of thinking on the right track?

Half assed answer here. he has 27BB, you raise to 5BB. Pot size postflop = 10-11.5BBs leaving villain with 22BBs and an SPR of 2. He can easily commit with any reasonable hand me thinks. Overcards, any PP, QX, 9x, SDs/FDs, maybe Ax. I think you basically committed yourself with a marginal hand (OOP?) by raising so big PF. If you wanted to stack off with AX you set it up just right. Checking might be more correct OOP vs the shorty, perhaps a smaller PF raise IP.

You say it gives u a good image. I was under the impression that Bovada tables are anonymous and HUD use is limited to the table your on. So it would give u an image for the time your at the table but after that meh (if that's the image your after).

I like the raise PRE (but sizing is way too big for a 27bb ESS). Any Axs is usually ahead HU. I'm not sure about the jam OTF. It seems spewtastic, but depends on ranges.

What is your range to raise a limp against this villain?

Do you think jamming this hand on this board makes the most sense with this range?

I don't mind bluffing this board, but I think you're missing the fact that many times, Ax is still ahead. Well, that depends on the villain, so...

What is Villain's range to call your shove OTF?

What is Villain's range to call a ~1/2 to 3/4 pot bet?

If you check the flop, what is Villain's range to bet?


We can really only give you poor advice on this type of question if you don't include some ranges.

Of course 3Q3 is a better board to jam on, as you'd have flopped trips.
