What does everyone think of the new Edge Rewards? How does it compare to old rakeback model? To the PokerStars VIP program?

based on some back of the envelope calcs i did

similar to old ftp model
better than stars nova if you're clearing a bonus and diamond edge, otherwise less good

bonuses clear at 40% rakeback equivalent
diamond edge players receive 25% rakeback equivalent
if you are simultaneously playing on ring game tickets then you can add in the rakeback equivalent of the clear-rate i guess, but there are problems with this - mostly associated with busto-ing the tickets before they are fully cleared.

so while clearing a bonus it's 65%, you accrue points at the same time which have a value that i haven't bothered to calculate yet.

Points are just shy of 5% extra rb if you buy 26 or 75 tourney tickets. Around 3.5 ish for ring game tickets (awful deals). Double these for happy hours of course.

In regards to original, a bit lower % than the regular 27% rb before plus the loss of ironman makes fulltilt rather meh unless you have a bonus. Still better % than stars for low volume players and games are softer too.

I thought the first deposit bonus cleared at 40% rbe, but the bonuses you purchase with points as a Diamond VIP were much less, only adding between 3.33% - 4.55%?

yeah it seems like stars wants to keep their hardcore grinders on PokerStars for SN/SNE, and the lower volume to Tilt for easier rbe deals.

Misunderstanding. I was referring to clear rates only once you have got the bonuses (mostly because i still have a lot of points and that's what i'm thinking about until i use them up).

The 4% figure refers to value of bought bonuses rather than clear rate - i.e. you can buy bonuses worth 4% rakeback.

Give me back my raketherake rakeback! Clear, transparent, money in my account every week. Hate all the f*cking VIP systems. I am a microstake low volume recreational player, I hate being bound to put in such and such volume to maintain some status.

The only status I am ever likely to achieve on FTP in the short term is silver and 10% rakeback is appalling compared to the 27% I was getting before.
