Fullring Playable?

Well now that i have infinite free time i really want to get back into studying and playing. I started out at fullring and was a spazzy calling station, my stats were like 20/8. I cleaned up my preflop game and moved to 6max where i was comfortably beating 10nl during the summer, then i started playing 25nl and went all tilty like a retard and ended up cashing out the $800 i'd made. I've deposited $100 and really want to work at my game. Are there any players who still primarily play fullring?

I feel like my preflop game was fairly solid at 6max but there were so many spots i was getting lost in postflop that i wonder if it will be a good idea to just start from the ground up at fullring and work at my postflop game.

Not that I'm recommending one over the other, but why not play 6-handed?

I just find that i'm not aggressive enough postflop, primarily because my understanding of ranges and hand reading is still a glaring weak point for me. And i get totally lost when playing OOP. I could likely tighten up my opening ranges but i'd be playing pretty nitty which seems to defeat the purpose of playing short-handed. I think i'm just stuck in the middle ground of having the basics down but struggling to understand how to progress as a player. Woe is me etc etc.

Then get better post-flop. This isn't going to change just because you switch to full ring.

Low stakes are the best place to fix your leaks as you'll lose less while your game improves. If you know you're weak post flop then do what spoon says and work hard on getting better post flop. You'll find it way easier and more profitable to move up then.

Use bankroll management and you'll be fine. Also study. A lot.

My guess is you want to play on PStars. Why not take on an Euro site, where I'm sure FR will be playable. Since you don't have a big BR, you probably won't want to play 20 tables, so I suggest you try Party. A lot of tables after the move of the bwin players

From what I could see everyone is nitting it up badly. Depends on the stakes too, if you're playing mid stakes, you're probably used to having only 1 fish at the tables, I like to spoil myself with 2-3 :)
More tables of 6 max, and fish will always be more inclined to play 6max because they have much less time to wait before hands.
I'm a FR player myself, for some reason never made the transition to 6m, even though I studied the game. That is one of the reasons why when I'm playing on stars , I'm playing PLO

If you're playing micro games, play on Stars. The games are tougher - this might sound like a bad thing, but it's not. If you play only at the easy tables, you might win and move up faster but your game won't improve and you won't learn how to play against regs, so you'll struggle as you move up.

No micro stakes table will ever be tough, and if you find it tough then it's a clear indicator that you need to work on your game. If you can't beat the "nits" (aka regs) at micro stakes, you definitely won't be able to at higher stakes where you'll encounter more and more of them. Micros is the best place to learn how to beat them.

There's no point playing micro stakes for the money, partly because of the low stakes and partly because of the rake. You should be using the micros for practice and refining your game.

I'd stick with 6-max if you're looking to improve your post-flop game more quickly. It might cost you a little bit of bankroll in the short-term or result in a break-even stretch, but the investment will be worth it.

UK minimum is £6.19 or $10.04 per hour. Considering 70 hands per hour on each table, that would take 24-tabling with a win-rate of 12 bb/100.

I guess there is also the alternative to grind a crazy number of hours and defeat the minimum monthly wage. But really, if you can do this, it's hard to believe that you're incapable of finding a job that pays the minimum.

I was working on the basis of playing Zoom/Rush: 1200 hands per hour @15bb/100 plus $1/hour rakeback. There's no reason why an experienced player couldn't sustain this win rate from what I've seen in these games.

Indeed. The key to my point is if you needed to do it (e.g. short term whilst looking for another job) then you could get by and the money certainly shouldn't be disregarded. Also definitely worth considering if you are a student, as you could play whenever you wanted from the comfort of your student shithole, rather than doing a minimum wage job.

You forgot tax, makes min wage easier to hit. But who the fuck earns min wage? Even as a student with pt work I earned much more than min wage. But the min wage argument is stupid. 5nl is either for fun because you enjoy playing poker but aren't concerned with trying to make money or alternatively a small part of your learning journey.

You should look at the games on whatever sites or networks you play on or might. If there generally aren't enough FR games for you, then the obvious alternatives are to find places where there are enough and to switch to 6max. Some people can probably play a mix at one time, but it's not anything I'd recommend.
