Does anyone ever bluff at these?

I have a small set of ultra-cooler boards that I absolutely never bluff at, but I was wondering if any of the more experienced members see oportunities here.

1) A double paired board. I call this The Four Horsemen, because I either ride with them, or get out of their way. The times that I haven't have been an apocalypse for my bankroll.

2). Four to a flush. That pesky ace shows up a lot, it seems.

3). Three of a kind. (The Bridesmaids). If someone is holding the fourth (the bride), a pair, or a matched overcard, then it's going to be an expensive wedding. This one seems especially a recipe for a bad beat in the making because you almost never know where you stand unless you hold the quad card.

So do any of you ever bluff at these? If so, what are your criteria?

In my experience, Villains' bet sizing tells the story... at least if they have the nut card or not. The few Villains who bet small V-town bets on river are the only ones that are tough to read.

EDIT: also the total donks who think "baby full" is a good hand on a 2-pair board.

RE-EDIT: also the idiots who will bet TPTK or 2 pair hands on a 4-flush.

The thing with the edit hands is that they're not bluffing... they actually think their hand is good.

First off, stop naming things like they are cute little fuzzies. Secondly this is far too broad of a question to answer in this context. Things like villains reads, how the hand plays on other streets and how you are playing and perceived as playing are all more important than some stupidly named board texture.

I'm sure you have experience, and I respect that. But are you always this rude?

How am I rude giving you free advice on a forum that I have been a memeber and moderating on and posted over 8000 times in 6 years. Check your ego or you won't get any more FREE advice from anyone

The criteria for bluffing at any board texture completely depends on how often a specific villain will fold, or more importantly how hard this board has hit villains range, not the board texture in general. If villain never folds we should never bluff at any boards because, ldo, he never folds.

More factors like our equity come into play also.

I agree with jyms. You have a lot to read and the names are tilting as fuck. And yes he's always that rude, sometimes he eats babies.

Okay, I recognize this one. My wife runs an Asian cultural festival that attracted 22,000 people last year, with the majority being in the 15-25 year old range. I've had to talk our webmaster down from murdering snot nosed kids on more than one occasion, whether or not they deserved it.

So yea, I get it. I also respect your opinion, your experience, your constant battle with whiny, entitled, jerks, and you time contribution. But I'm not some whipped teen that thinks that entitles you to whip up on me, and I tend to bite back.

Fair enough. I'll get on it. Thanks for the feedback. That kind of read on my opponent is beyond me at the moment, especially on the low micro levels where it's hard to put any reason to some of the plays. Hence my never bluffing those boards. But I can see a place for this later )and rarely), once I get better at reading others.

Ask yourself these questions...

What is villain's range?
What's the weakest holding (relative to the board) that you've seen him call a river bet with?
How much of his range, in % terms, do you think he folds to a half pot river bet?
What about a 70% river bet?
What about pot size river bet?
If he folds 80% of his range to a pot size bet, and 50% of his range to a half pot bet, which is better?

Answer these questions and you might start to figure out if a particular spot is a good bluffing spot, and how much to bet when we do decide to bluff.
