KK oop v utg , my analysist

Table Dynamics read: The Btn liked to be in every pot and would see through to the river with 73 on a J7x flop against aggression, he was being isolated pretty much every hand whilst I was at the table . I had 3 bet him often (for iso). Even tho he folds to this 3bet , I think its worth mentioning.


UTG raise , JJ+.

When UTG flats I decide to keep AA in his range, I m thinking hes waiting to see if the BTN comes along.


The turn hurts , now it dawns on me AK should have been in his UTG range. And I should have raised / Jammed his flop bet.

Any thoughts on this ?

I assume you folded when utg went all in. Bit of a no brainer I guess. I can understand the check on the flop but surely you should have raised rather than calling utg's bet at that stage.

Why are you check/calling the flop? Also not sure why your preflop range for him so narrow, He opens 20% of hands, I think he'd open around 8% from UTGat least which means ATs+, AQo+, KQ+, and then most pocket pairs, let's say 7s+.

Regardless, on this flop.
You should bet out, if he raises then I'd get it in. If he doesn't then I'd bet most turns (including the ace). Yeah sure, he may have lucked out with the ace, but at least the hand was played correctly and you can confidently rep the ace, you lose hands that are well played sometimes, it happens.

If you check, then at least intend to check raise and get it in.

as played, I guess you should fold the turn, but IDK, I feel like your actions before the turn just put you in a complicated spot.

raise pre is to at least $2.50

pot = $0.10 + $0.20 + $0.60 + $0.60 = $1.50
amount to call = $0.50
pot w/ call = $2.00

PSB = $0.50 + $2.00 = $2.50

I'm wondering if UTG will be calling your re-raise lighter since he knows BTN will be coming along. If I have AA UTG, I don't want 3 way action, I pop it.

Not sure what you are trying to accomplish on the flop check. You have to make a 2/3ish bet here.

First thought to me is his big bet on turn is saying he doesn't want to see a river. No real draws other there that he can be afraid of. He may of flopped set and is trying to induce a A to call him. He could be making play with JJ or QQ here, but he may be betting any A is has as well. Would be shocked if he had set of A. Aces up might be his holding as well if he started with suited A.

Make it more pre- because you're OOP to two opponents. At least pot it.

Why get fancy and c/c this fairly dry flop with your overpair? There are two opponents, so more opportunity to get drawn out on, plus the loose passive is on the btn, which means it's probably more likely to go check check than if their seats were reversed. Lead for at least 2/3 pot.

Since you decided to check instead, then check raise. You're prepared to get it in, so get more money in the pot. If he folds, what were you going to do on the turn anyway since, given your actions, it's not as if you're likely to be seen as weak whether you call or raise?

A PSB here is a raise to $2.70, not $2.50:

Actually, this made me realise that there was a mistake in the post I linked to above. I now corrected it and posted the correction in post #16 in the same thread, until a moderator replaces the original post with the corrected one.

$2.50 is still not correct though (but neither is my $2.70):

When it is our turn to play, the total pot is $1.50 (including the $0.10 in front of us). The bet of our opponents is $0.60. If we just called, we would have to call $0.50. So according to my corrected post:
pot = $1.50
B = $0.60
C = $0.50
and to make a PSR, we should raise to: $0.60 + 1*($1.50+$0.50) = $2.60

This is correct because:
- when we raise to $2.6, we actually add $2.5 to the pot (because of our $0.10 that were already in there). So the pot is now $1.5+$2.5=$4
- our opponent would have to call $2 (the $2.6 minus the $0.6 he already has in there)
- so after he calls, the pot will be $4+$2=$6
- so he calls $2 to win a total pot of $6 and his pot odds are $2/$6=0.333333 (or 2:1), so we indeed laid the correct odds for a pot sized raise.

Hi celt.......... I play tournees mostly ... did try to learn the cash game a bit ... but I can tilt quite easily ...... so all my initial succsess was easily lost ... and some lol...... What do you play ..Cash or tournees..?
I've just started on PS ... think its gonna improve my game .. the size of the field , adds to the game ...
I am not using .. Holdem manager or Poker tracker ... but think I might have to go down that route ... as I think the enememy are lol...... any ideas which is best for PS...... Dom
