[2NL] TT FH on Turn...Hero Fold?

Villain was 38/10/5 over 42 hands. Nothing else of note, other than he had raised JJ UTG before calling a 3bet and then checked both flop & turn when he had an overpair to board.

I think that is the worst river card that can hit? His 5x 3bet reps a big hand, KK/AA/AK is what I would put him on. Probably disregard KK when that flop hits. Can anybody find a hero fold here or is it a crying call?

Think I just fold this pre.

As for river, can't see us being good here like ever. He doesn't have JJ/QQ, everything else he can make this raise pre with beats us. Really tough to fold this, but it looks correct to do so.

Given stacks and reads I agree we can just muck this one pre.

Yeah, fold this pre. Villain 5x 3bet, albeit a min raise but think about it. You were just talking about how people would notice when you 5x'd with AA and now you're calling a 5x 3bet with TT.

As played I might actually lead this flop.

lots of rubbish in here.
I assume you think villain has Kx or Ax in his range when you bet the river.
and you dont disregard KK just because flopping quads is unlikely you give it 1 combo in the range you assign.
i think its a easy fold. unlikely villain is shoving with Kx and equally unlikely he has 88 in his range given pre.

preflop call is probably only ok if villain is 100% KK+ cos that's the only time you're getting chips in if you flop a set. So, range-constriction means that river is check-fold. Unless his range pre is wider than KK+, in which case preflop is a fold. Make sense? hope so. Ask if it doesn't

Just going to nitpick, if villain is "wider" then KK+ it depends how much wider he is for us to fold. If it's JJ+, AK then sure it's a fold but it's it top 50% of hands it's a pretty obvious 4b or call pre...I mean since we are all english majors now or something.

For the same reasons Icanhasenglishclass is nitpicking about set mining AND described villain is weaktight and maybe can fold AA here.

My plan for the turn sucks but it's shut down if we're called (with the exception of this turn obv) and it sucks worse cuz the pot is already bloated a little.

Really I'm happy donking almost any paired flop (without much of a plan) which I think has worked well up to 50nl but has prolly been part of the reason I haven't beat the 50's yet.

true, should have written 'if villain's range is tight, but wider than KK+' - or something like that. And someone is going to misinterpret it if we don't get it cleared up cos bc. cheers.

A somewhat reluctant fold pre-. TT is obviously a pretty decent holding, but it's value is decreased by multiple situational factors. I'm OOP, there's the big stack behind me still to act, I expect to see at least one over on the flop, and the implied odds to set mine are slim to inadequate.

Fold or 3bet pre. As played fold is the best option but in the BTN he can open a lot of cards. 42 hands is very low to say something so fold is the best play in my opinion

fold pre because the presence of AK in his range means we wont have odds to mine (plus sometimes we get ATx and no action from KK or QQ, and we very occasionally get set-over-setted on TKx and TAx). as played i'm pretty comfortable folding river. there are still 10 combos of AA/KK/AK and i'm pretty sure his range hasnt been much wider than that since his first action.
