Experiencing problems with iPoker sites 'shutting down'???

Hi,
I've been experiencing problems on iPoker sites ever since the recent update (lobby upgrade). While playing it will regularly 'shutdown' on me with a window popping up saying "Playtech Client Engine Application has stopped working... Windows is checking for solutions to the problem".

It was happening frequently on TitanPoker... less on WillHill (9x in one tournament on titan... 3x on the bubble in one on WillHill.. obviously at different times). Has nothing to do with my internet connection (I'm typically on 3 to 5 other sites at same time.... zero problems on any of the others while this 'shutdown' thing is happening).

I first started noticing it happening on Titan where I'd get a 'DEP' window coming up (data execution prevention) followed by a 'Playtech Client Engine Application has stopped working..." I wrote in to support close to 10x & kept getting generic responses, inferring I had an internet connection issue... I assured them this wasn't the case as I'd heard of a few others who were also experiencing simliar problems as myself. It wasn't until I sent in over a half-dozen screenshots from one tourney alone (each time it happened) that I finally received a response admitting that there is a problem & that they are 'working on it' & will inform me of when it's been resolved.

Can't say I feel confident playing on that network right now.. & have pretty much stopped playing on there altogether aside from a few VIP games & a sign-up bonus game thingy - - nothing of any significance.

I tried moving some of my play over to WilliamHill as it didn't seem to be happening on there (although I'd played very little on there since the update)... only to discover the same thing on WH > 'shutdown'.. 'shutdown'... actually 3x while on the bubble in on tourney.

I'm able to log right back onto the site pretty much immediately after it kicks out on me (I probably lose only ~10-15secs. of play)... still though I'm booted from the hand I'm in & doesn't help much for my confidence.. not knowing if &/or when it's shutting down on me again.

Tried contacting WillHill about it... & of course the same thing on there (or close to it).. receiving generic responses insisting that it's my internet connection.. asking non-relevant questions in response to my inquiries (ie. what games were you playing when this happened? .. what's your mother's maiden name,..etc. etc.). I explained that it's really irrelevant what tourneys I was in as it's happening on any & all & I'm not writing in regards to request of a refund or anything of that nature... I'm writing to find out what the problem is.. in hopes of getting it resolved (so that I can actually consider playing on there again). Response I received today > "sorry but no refunds are deemed necessary... the problem is likely due to slow ISP speed (I have the fastest available in my area... cable & not using wireless) low computer specifications & a fault of your ISP (I have a relatively new computer... & am able to comfortably play on 6 or 7 sites at at time regularly, etc. etc. blah blah blah > You need to delete temp. files, etc. etc.

I've seen some comments from other players who have been experiencing the same issues (on Poker770 & Titan).

Anyone else experiencing these problems on iPoker sites?

Do you play on iPoker sites? I'm confused a bit here... not sure what you're meaning here?

I'm asking if there are others (many others?) who are experiencing similiar issues on iPoker sites (for myself it's all the ones who've had the recent lobby upgrade update... only one I play on that I'm not experiencing problems on is ChiliPoker.. but they haven't done the lobby update.. 'yet'.. or at least hadn't the last time I played on there .. < 1wk. ago).

I'm saying if you want a solution or an actual response instead of the run around from the sites on how it's your connection you should talk to your affiliate.

What version of windows are you running? And computer specs?

ipoker is pretty shitty (aka, resource hogging) at the best of times. You're probably using HEM/PT for the huds, and other programs.. It all adds up and even slightly older machines will have burps with shitty programs.

is this only happening when you play tournies. Have you tried playing cash to see if it happens on your computer. I haven't experienced it at all playing titan , but aside from depositors/vip freerolls i havent played any tournies its all been ringgames.

Have you tried using the flash browser client at chili or titan. You load it from the main tuitan page and under the big red dowland icon theres and instant play link (also lets mac/linux users play on ipoker)

I've had no problems on ChiliPoker.... it's the only site that hadn't done the lobby update/upgrade though.

I've heard of others having the same problem as I am... but so far there's been very little help or solution to what the problem is.

It's not my computer speed.. it's happening to me now even while I'm playing just one table (tourney) on either WillHill or Titan. It's not a typical disconnect.... a window will pop up on my screen saying >
"Playtech Client Engine Application has stopped working .... Windows is checking for a solution... "

(this happens anywhere from 2 to 10x during the duration of one tourney)

Last night I had the Customer Support Manager from WilliamHill get back to me... & same as Titan, he admits to there being a problem 'but' that its only affecting some players.
His comments: "I suspect the cause of the malfunction to lie in the new client's hardware-compatibility with a certain computer architecture (64-bit systems)."

My computer specs.:
WinVista (64-bit Operating System)
Pentium Dual-Core
RAM: 4GB
ie9
Adobe Flash 11.1.102.55

I've been asking around now to see if others who are experiencing this same problem are also using 64-bit WinVista.

Answered most of this above.
Not using HEM/PT while on there.

It's happening to me while having 4-5sites running, multiple tables on some of them, but it's also happening even if I'm only playing ONE table & only on that ONE site... with nothing else running or open on my computer at all.
It doesn't lag or disconnect/re-connect... it just straight out stops... gets shutdown.

When it first started happening to me on Titan, I'd get a window popping up saying 'DEP' data execution prevention... then it would have the other window pop up saying "PLaytech Client Engine Application has stopped working "

Won't be able to confidently play on iPoker til' I get this resolved obviously. Maybe I'll dig out the older laptop with WinXP (2GB Ram, Dell) to see if it runs okay on it.

Have you tried using the flash browser client rather than the downloaded .exe client ? Titan have it and its the instant play link just under the software download and should get around any hardware incompatablility problems.

Is iPoker still wicked nitty? I remember my time there fondly.

I have just recently had this problem with titan, william hill and poker770, started happening 6 weeks ago. Spoke to support 7 times and no joy, after numerous badbeats on cash tables i close software and get error message "playtech client engine has stopped working". After software has closed and i try to reopen i get error message "software (being which ever site i am playing) is still running". So i then look in task manager and sure enough, the playtech client engine is still running. WHY IS IT STILL RUNNING, GOD KNOWS. This only happens on ipoker network. Only thing i could do is contact Antigua gaming commission and ask them to look into it. Will report back when i hear more.

If your playing on iPoker your giving your money away to a crooked network anyway. They allow bots, multi accounting and I would bet even worse. Anyone tht can play there should have better options. It's not like your stuck with only that network to play on.

I recommend that you withdraw immediately and move to any or all of Party, Pokerstars, Ongame or an underground cash game where your money will be safer
