villain is 14/4 over 50ish. fold flop for min? not sure how he plays AQ or clubs. we're not gettin tricky on this turn right vs a guy who likely doesnt have a fold button? is this standard?

I'm 3betting flop for value against Qx and clubs, hands that make up a good % of his range. I'd fold to 4bet.

because at 5NL he's not folding a FD an open ender or any Q here so we can get it in for value? Can we get enough of his money in with busted FDs to make calling the flop more +EV than raising it?

I dount this villain folds oesd, but does a 14/4 call KT and T9 to raise in the first place? Does he min raise them on flop when he does have them? Not convinced. On flop, he's got JJ, 55, QJs, KQ, AQ, Ax clubs, some smaller clubs, maybe QQ since he's passive pre. Turn is bad for two reasons... obv the A kills our overpair, but he also now doesn't have Ax clubs, so his range is crushing us, we now only beat KQ, which we block. The nut redraw means turn is ldo call at this price, bricked river means ldo fold.

Calling flop probably is better than my r/f line, but it's a wet flop and we have an overpair against a fish, I want value from his top pair and draw hands.

problem is, this fish is shaping up to be more weaktight than loose passive, so his preflop range is tighter, and his flop raising range is probably tighter also. This means we have to discount draws on the flop a fair bit, and he doesn't even raise a Q all the time on the flop. Raise/folding the flop is a disaster, raise/calling or raise/jamming is similarly disastrous with discounted Qs and draws.

I don't know why you'd think a 14/4 doesn't have a fold button.

I don't like 3-betting the flop when a passive starts playing back. I'd rather bomb this turn though, once the Ac comes out he has approximately 0 flushes in his range.

you think he can fold 2 pair exactly QJ cos he's not folding AQ and hes never folding a set surely? I sat on it for a bit but I was getting a stupid price to draw out, I'm glad you said it cos that was really my main thing.
My thoughts now are my fold equity is not as good as my actual equity but he folds a shit ton on good rivers for me which blows fat chunks. I think he even folds a set on flush rivers and ever so ocassionaly we're hit by a flush exactly 9Tcc when we hit straight.

I may be influenced by result of seeing his weakass turn bet. But normally I'd say yeah, I think he can fold QJ on the turn. B/F river might be better.

looks good to me. 3betting flop with plan of folding makes me feel a little sick. and i'm not stoked to 3bet flop and have him jam on us.
