villain had been sitting out, posted 2 before his blind (lol), this is only my second orbit. nothing unusual about any of my play thus far.
right I c bet this flop but I dont know if I should have or to what size. what would you all do here what kind of a response are we expecting from random unknown villain with a deep stack

On this board I'm happy to check flop and see what villain does on turn and river. Would probably call blanks on both depending on size and timing. Would call a small bet on either turn or river if flush completes and probably sigh and fold to a big bet.

Why does checking make you happy? Are you worried about getting c/r'd? if so why? Do you think there's no value to be had by betting the flop?

I am just going to cbet for value here, probably around 75% of the pot. And the rest of the hand depends on which cards come and if the villain (who is probably bad considering the post) fights back. If he doesn't fight back and the board runs out favorable I will probably just bet the turn and river.

You have a very good hand, only hands that beat you KK, AA, KhXh, AhXh, XhXh, 59, 9T, 66,77,88 and 67,68,78, so I'd bet 2/3 pot.

WOW! What a horribly, passive way to play. Why would you want to give up the initiative in this hand?

Don't check the flop. Value bet somewhere between 75% and 90% of the pot. Daven's 45c sounds about right. Don't worry about the c/r until (if) it happens.

pot is 187 and I have to call 55 making it 242 seems like a sic price, I can see the trouble with calling though continuing on any turn is gonna be difficult if he keeps firing. still sic price especialy as I expect to have the best hand here a good bit. meh I think your prolly right

With no reads this is how I see it:

Yeah, it's a really sick price but it's also not a board that a lot of people will bluff. IMO, he'd be pretty polarized when he does a c/r so you have to decide if you're willing to continue in the face of multiple streets of aggression on what might be a bluff, or fold to that aggression.

I don't like to call on one street with the intention of folding on another. I'd rather just keep my $$$. If I had seen him run a multi-street bluff then I'd be more willing to call it down.

Just to explain my thinking..........

I'm fine with checking cause a shit load of the deck on the turn or river means I pretty much have to fold. I'd rather not bloat the pot at this stage with a simple over pair to the board.
Not worried about a c/r so much as figuring what is the point in giving villain the option when all I have is an over pair.
As for value on the flop.......I make villains continuing range something like 55-99, AhJh, AhQx, KhJh, KhQx+. Figure TT+, AK and AQs+ he raises pre and if I've done pokerstove right we are 52% against that range. So yes there is value but it's pretty thin.

Having said all that, it seems all of the better players here are saying bet somewhere close to pot so I'm going to try to figure out where my reasoning is wrong.

Your reasoning would be better if you had black queens, but you don't have 'just' an overpair, you have an overpair and the 3rd NFD, which is gunna be better than a lot of villain's 4flushes given preflop.

I see what you mean about black queens but I don't really see many worse 4 flush possibilities villain would check call pre with and continue to river after hitting a 4 flush. Maybe JhJx, possibly JhTh and if he is a real drongo ThTx but all three of those are pretty unlikely. I see him most likely continuing with AhX and probably KhQx. Or am I missing something?

there are a shit ton of draws villain is gonna be pretty hapy to raise with if he holds either the 4h 9h Th Ah Kh he's gonna be pretty happy, I also think we can discount AK at least a little bit here cos even most fish know thats worth a raise pre and he's got a 400bb stack he's not got that being super passive

Im doing exeptionaly well vs straights, sets and 2 pair
I actually cant find any kind of reasonable range I should fold vs. (I'm quite supprised by this)
I did call and turn was the 7s and he fired half PSB pretty quickly. who's folding now?

Bet the flop! The hand only becomes difficult if you get c/r'ed until that actually happens bet like you have the best hand!
You'll get told when you don't have the best hand and even I'd someone is getting aggro with draws/semi bluffs you're normally flipping at best against their range so this isn't going to be a good spot to play a big pot - betting the flop while in position allows you to dictate that

Not a fan of the assumption that villain will raise those draws most of the time, especially after pre action.
