OK, so not exactly 2nd income territory, but acheived my 2 goals for last month:
- Play enough to feel comfy with the move to 4NL
- Play enough to redeem my $25 "O Pleez Come Back To Us" bonus @ Party
final total for October = +$28.35.
You should learn to bluff less and value bet moar.
Also, probably stop calling flops/turns just to fold turns/rivers.

Edit: For myself, deposited $25 on Carbon idk, 2 weeks ago. Playin 4nl 6m with no HUD 2-4 tabling. Net profit is liekkkk $80? Something like that idk.

um... AWESOME first 1/4 month, then that down slump was only liek a couple days. Think I dropped 5.5 BI's in 2 sessions lol. I dunno why my game is so swingy.
Now my work situation has changed and I don't think I'll have time to play anymore. I'd hoped to have my BR at 300 and be at 10NL by 2012, but now I just can't get hands in. When I get home from work I practically fall asleep at the computer lol
If I tried real hard I might get 3-5k hands in this month, which sucks ass. :(

I'm just guessing for the most part but they are probably two of the most common leaks at micros, especially 10nl and below.
Your blue line is ok, but still fairly swongy. The more effectively you value bet, the more it's going to ///////
Your red line tanks, so you're probably calling a street(s) and then deciding when you face more aggression that you're beat. Which is fine in some instances, but should never be your default.
Oh and more for the blue line, if you bluff the river and get called, it effects your SD winnings (obv).

The definitions really aren't that important imo. I mean I guess they are if you're trying to graph the amount of time you play in a specific state, but I think that's way too hard to quantify as the quality of your mental game is constantly in flux. It's pretty rare to play an entire session completely in one category or the other imo. The kind of precise introspection and constant (manual) recording required to accurately graph this would be too distracting when you're trying to focus on poker at the same time.
A more useful practice than constantly recording your mental state during play (I'm not saying that's what you do, I assume you're averaging it over a session) is to constantly sample your mental state, and try to bring yourself back to an optimal, objective state. I found angelo's deep breathing suggestion helpful, as I've generally found all breathing-based meditations helpful. If all else fails, snap quit.
I just jumped on you because I don't believe most people are particularly good at judging the quality of their mental state, and tend to underestimate the extent of tilt they're experiencing. Tilt puts you in a more primitive mental state where introspection becomes harder and harder as our reptilian brains take over. Apologies if you're better than most -- I don't know you and you may be better than I assumed.
Your A game sounds like what I'd call my B game. B game is where I make no obvious mistakes, play solidly, follow action, take notes and don't send IMs....I mean sending IMs during sessions is just dumb and something that shouldn't be in any of your games.
My A game is where I make awesome plays I wouldn't normally see. Think outside the box to more to find new outlooks or relevant factors on spots I'd normally overlook. When I play my A game I find myself discovering new ways to exploit my opponents, I'm more in tune with the mistakes their making and how I can adjust to them. Stuff like that.
Either make an A+ game and aim to play it as often as possible, or set the bar a bit higher for your A game imo.
If you ever find yourself playing you C game as you have described it, quit your session. There's no reason to play if unfocussed and doing other shit on the internet or your phone at the same time. If you ever find yourself playing your E game then just switch to your F game and win all that monies back through run good ldo.
d0zer i def agree the way i've been dong it atm is after each session i write the estimate % of each game i played during that session then tally the daily results if I play multiple sessions. But I agree its incredibly hard... poker is so interesting to make you look at yourself and your mindset in a unbiased way like normal people almost never do this irl.
Internet and IM is kinda a minor thing before each session i def close my browser and skype/fb but sometimes i will check back on something or my phone will ring and it will be important real life stuff but I dont do this very much prob over-hyped it by putting it in the descriptions.
haha yeah I should def make a A+ game even if i hit it like 5% in a session that's a good idea :)
As for C game quitting I kinda disagree. I would say atm my C game is breakeven-ish and If I quit everytime I start playing my C game I will never improve my C game I would only improve my quitting discipline. Some people will be like "I never tilt I just quit if etc etc happens" but that's not really solving their tilt problem that's just masking it. Because I can keep playing breakeven C game when etc etc happens but the other player has to quit and can't play at all. But 100% agree if I fall into D game and cant get back to A B or C

I just got back to playing last month on Cake, I am 10-tabling 6-max trying to rebuild a BR.
Ran 3.5BB/100. Mixed my play between 10NL and 20NL. I am just about rolled for 50NL, will likely end up there sometime in November.
