I call this because i know SC's are good implied odds hands and I'm essentially putting my villain on AA, KK, AK

Was I right to play it this way?

folding pre is great without reads and oop. You cannot put villain on KK+/AK based on that sample size to justify calling pre, if you are right then play your hand like he has KK+/AK....
flop is bad, either donk-3b-etc or c-raise.
River is check-decide as played.

That's way too tight of a range for your villain first off, second I don't like flatting both streets as you don't get any value from hands like AQ with A of diamonds, or a big pair with a diamond, you basically just trying to showdown your hand. I like a check raise on the flop, and jam the turn as if he does have a high pair with a diamond he's calling at these stakes, Idk. I don't like the play at all imo.

i could see calling pre had villain raised to $0.08 or less simply because i expect random 2nlers to play terribly postflop and over-value single pair type hands. as played, fold pre. the flop is really wet and there are a ton of turn cards (any 8,J,Q,K,A) which either

- make your hand second-best, or
- kill your action because the board is too scary for villain to pay you off

so C/R it up and get some value.

DEFINITELY need to be C/Ring this turn as played as well. your rationale for calling pre was because you thought villain's range was pretty strong and thus you could get paid off if you hit. yet you check/call and don't really give villain a chance to make that mistake.

the morale of the story is ..... don't sit there and try to be sneaky when u hit a big hand, just get the money in the middle.

we can CRAI this w/ no problem, 2nl will call us on TP, overpairs, Jx, any FD so we get payed by a lot worse...
but like they said, better fold pre
