I just got a royal flush and I realized its the only straight/royal flush I have had since I started playing back in August. I was curious and looked up the odds and its was ridiculous how small the chances were. I got 649,740 to 1.
I was wondering how many royal/straight flushes the people here who have been playing for huge periods of time for many years have gotten.
Like can you guys keep track, or what? I'm just curious as to how many the people here have gotten since they started playing.
Does this forum look like we're playing Zynga poker?
No-one is counting because it's not important.

i've had one royal flush in what i would estimate to be something like 200-250k hands lifetime. and (as a guess) 4-5 straight flushes.

Had few royals, about five i think. Also had few straight flushes. And one straight flush beaten by a stronger straight flush. Beat that! Btw, Zynga poker is just great, makes me feel like a shark there. :D
I stopped counting after 2, that was the point I realised it wasn't important. But who doesn't remember their first? You wanna tell everyone. You think people care. My first royal flush I was holding JJ. It was hearts. Obv rigged.
makes me envious, I have never had a royal, 4 straights that I won, in about 300k hands (according to my DB, probably a little more if I count those that aren't in there). Am I due one royal soon? lol!

Someone was sweating me - dranger, I think. I was already running ridiculously hot this session. This was the last hand on the last table. I already had 'sit out next hand' checked. Villain had AJ.

and you are never 'due' for a royal... if the odds are 649,740 to 1, considering you will not play all suited broadways, and the fact that it is fair to expect that a certain number of the times you do play them your opponents will hold blockers, and the sheer number of hands dealt that simply cant hit a royal I doubt it would be unreasonable to expect to go for several million hands and never hit a royal..
everyone here must be a luckbox.. the consistently winning regs only do so cos they hit royals and no one else does.
I'd rather flop a NFD and overs than a royal flush any day. Getting paid with quads, str8 flushes and royals just doesn't happen enough.
Those odds apply to getting a royal flush if you were dealt 5 random cards. In hold'em, you obviously have a total of 7 cards to make a hand from, so royals are a lot easier (relatively) to get. With Hold'em, you can expect to have a royal flush once in every 30,940 times a game goes all the way to the river. I played 70,000 hands on zynga (where you nearly always see the river) and had one royal flush, but other people had two or more in less than 60,000 hands. Straight flushes come up on average once in 3217 hold'em hands. I had half a dozen. I only started playing for money 10 days ago (about a thousand hands so far) and I've already had one straight flush.Quote:
