The Norm jokes were really bad, especially the one about sucking out on cancer and flava flav. And more importantly the play wasn't as interesting
What's interesting about pros playing whales? Hope this isn't the lineup the entire way... I'm guessing GSN did some polling and must've found that most of the people watching the show are morons, and the people that like to see the poker make up a small minority... because it wouldn't be hard to find some one who could talk about equity or ranges or something.

Not too far from the truth probably. The average viewer is just watching for entertainment value, I'd guess that less than 20% of the audience actually wants to watch HSP and learn something. Most just want to see big pots won and lost, big bluffs, action, etcQuote:

I love Norm MacDonald and I don't really care if he's not as good at poker as Gabe either. It's not like Gabe was ever all that good and I never learned anything from him anyways.
Norm is hilarious. He's the king of dry monotone humor.
HSP7 does however feel a little bit different. The series has been my favorite poker on TV thus far and so I have high expectations of season 7.
So far, what it's missing is Durr vs Hellmuth, Daniel vs Matusow, etc.
Interesting dynamic with the whale who is donating all of his profits and matching his losses for donations as well.
Also, I find Selbst boring.
Only really interesting play was BG turning 99 into a bluff on river. The rest of the first episode ran like my local $1/$2 game.

Norm mis-called at least 3 hands in episode 2. He's horrible. Norm, you can see their hole cards, so F-F-Sake, try to keep up. And a word of advice, LOOK at the flop before you start declaring who is trapping whom. Gabe is sorely missed, and Season 7 is garbage.
