Hand review: 2 hands value betting against 73/30 player 2NL

Both hands are against same villain who was 73/30 after 23 hands at the table. (23 was when hand #1 happened. Hand #2 happened maybe 15 hands later) He'd played calling station for a few pots through to the end and generally showed air or middle or bottom pair at best. The only time he had a better offering was once when he'd raised preflop.

I'll mention results later, but just wondered if I'm playing these on the right lines or not. Thanks for any feedback!

hand 1- check/eval turn ...what are you getting 3 streets from? all his 8x just tripped up on the turn, the only draw he has is 67 and hes not calling with that on the river....if you think hes calling with 22,33,44,66,77 that still isnt enough considering ALLLLL the other hands he has (Ax/8x/TT-KK/88/55)....definitely butchered this one imo.

hand 2- i dont think you have odds to call the turn especially considering all your outs are not even clean, after he donk pots 2 streets i think you have to give him some credit. Also why are you playing with less than 100bb's please buy in full, if you were deep enough this could be a call based on implied odds but your not

right I'm drunk right now but hand 1 I think you don't really want to be going for a big pot vs station check call if you think your in front. small hand, small pot.

H1 - turn bet seems thin.

H2 - even if you get his stack every time you hit on the river your turn call is still -EV, buy in for 100BB.

Thanks for the input - I posted these 2 hands specifically because they were the among (and hopefully) the worst hands I played all session.

To explain H2 a little more - I know this one was an error on my part, one of my biggest leaks is letting go when I'm probably beaten and I need to let go more. It was specifically the player it was against that kept me hanging in there. I could really see him betting like that with a low pp or absolute air. I got lucky to hit I realize that, and I knew the odds weren't there really. Follow up question for it: was it worth calling the $0.14 on the flop to win big later - when I was doing that I was thinking I was investing that much to see two cards rather than one (thinking wrongly that he would probably check the turn if I called him on the flop).

Now I type that question it actually sounds more absurd to me. If his hand is going to be weak enough to check the turn he's probably not going to call a river bet large enough to pay me off.

I do buy in full and re-buy in general, I must have forgotten to re-buy between the two hands shown here - it's having my mistakes really pointed out to me that's helping me learn - it will hopefully stay in my brain now I've admitted I forgot in public :)

You can change settings in Full Tilt to automatically rebuy any time you fall below 100bbs.

See if we've seen him station with draws/weak pairs/air in the past then we should realize his leading range is going to be stronger. I think it's mainly composed of hands he considers "good" i.e. he's not folding them. His bet size is kind of interesting as well, mainly looks like he is betting to protect against a flushdraw (I'm assuming he has a king or better) since that's the obvious draw on this board, loads of bad players miss straight draws hence you have more implied odds. So on this flop

Calling >>>> Folding > Raising

He's betting the turn usually even if the flush draw comes in.

So on this flop if Calling >>>> Folding > Raising is true, then should I still be folding turn at the size of his bet here?

Also, Great tip on the auto top up thank you! I always wondered how some people topped up so quickly but never put 2 and 2 together.

Haven't read the other responses but fold turn in both hands. c/f turn in hand 1 unless he bets ridiculously small. In hand 1 he can have 76 I guess as basically the only hand we beat. This makes it a c/f. You'd have to add a lot of 5x combos to his range to make the turn a c/c but river is def. a c/f. In hand 2 you are short and you don't have the implied odds to call turn.

H1: C- bet is too big. We're not folding out anything better and want to at least allow worse to call sometimes/loose less when one of them has Ax. C/F turn, the bet is seriously bad.

H2: Fold the turn for the reasons already stated.

99 - pre good, flop c-bet smaller for sure (say 9c), turn is a good spot to check-fold.

QT - pre good. Flop is closer than you think, call is ok though. Turn you have at most 8 outs = about 16% so you need to make 6x 0.42 out of the hand when you hit. Which is obviously impossible. Fold turn.
