Flopped Boat

UTG+1 is a 6/19 fairly passive type. over like 18

Wasnt sure:
-Raise the flop?
-Raise turn bigger?
-Sizing on riv?

-Kinda thrown off by the riv c/shove

When he shoves the riv the only hands im really ahead of are like A9 and air and maybe he does this with AA or something dumb like AK or QJ if he likes to blockbet/ call the turn with a gs.


But I think this is often KK, AA or A9s if hes opening that in EP? (small sample size)

- river is a snap call, only better boats he has are KK/TT(6 combos), AA and AK/A9s are very possible and you only need 24% equity vs his range.

I am not so sure about raising the flop. Isn't it kinda telling him "I have a 9" and he lays down his overpairs and his air, so what are you getting value from?

As played, I'd make a pot sized raise on the turn ($5.85), and then a 3/4 pot bet on the river ($11.75). This doesn't quite gets the stacks in, but pretty close.

The check raise on the river is worrying but as HoopyDude said, no way you can lay this down with these odds.

Put him on range. You realize you need to correct like 25% of the time. This is fist pump call.

Well we don't really know much about this guy since the sample of hands we have on him is tiny, so I'm assuming his UTG+1 opening range is fairly tight.

Call flop and raise turn looks much stronger than just raising the flop imo, can't see why he'd fold his over pairs especially if our read is he's passive and therefore likely gets sticky when he actually has a hand.

I only raise this flop if I know UTG is capable of continuing with crap like AQ/AK. His overpairs might even fold. For sure I flat this and let him fire again before I go mental, only a turn 9 will slow me down.

looking back at the hand after playing it I think the best line is to raise turn like ~5.5 and just jam the river. ..or do you think this just folds out all worse?

Once again thats a pretty strong read that he's laying down his over pairs. How are we assuming this? I agree about the air though, which is a large part of his range.

hand is well played, if you raise turn a bit more you can pot river for the rest of your stack. I like waiting and raising this turn because he gets one more street to bluff. Given his bet size on the turn, if he has air, he looks like he's shutting down on the river anyways.

snap call river, really hard to make a soulread and put him on TT, he could just as easily have KT.

He's 19/6 and opening UTG+1 so I think it's reasonable to assume he has a fairly tight range here even with the small sample.

His opening range is probably almost the same as his cbetting range, 88+, AJs+, KQs, AQo+, KQo and tbh I don't think it's right to assume this guy will fire the turn with air given the read that he's "passive".

river snap call

I would snap-call. You might lose 1 in 10 of these. But you'll win the other 9.

you dont raise flop as you'll fold out all A-x type hands, you should give them a chance to catch up. If he's already got trips your both getting it in anyway. The few times you let him draw and hit a bigger set sucks, but you pay it. Agree with re-raising more on turn and jamming river. It's rare he's gonna call a turn reraise and fold river. easy river call as played.

That's an easy river call. You can't fold that hand down.
