Basically what you said. Big hand, big monies. He should have bet out of course and then done a few things based on how you reacted/your frequencies/etc.

bet flop, bet turn, ship river. the hand pretty much plays itself. Probably c/c turn if you had tighter stats.
your range on the flop is like A2s-A9s, A7o-AJo, 22-88, KJo-KQo, KJs-KQs

Yeah your limp pre sucks. Early pos I can forgive it if we think table is passive, but not button. You have one limper, I would raise to 8c. I can't imagine BB is folding AJs, so we don't lose our lovely pot.
If I was villain, I'm raising my BB more when it comes round. I go to 14c and I assume you call. Your stats of 22/18 tells me you like to raise when you eneter a pot, so why have you limped? When you call my raise to 14c, I've got you on a range of 22-66. Thanks to your limp/call, there's a remote chance I can get away from this, especially if you raise when I lead out the flop at 18c. In fact, even if you call, I'm worried now. Am I really good enough to fold this? Of course not, I'm stuck with you at 2nl, but I probably say "Please not 66" as I shove the turn, knowing full well it's 66.
Funny thing is, if you raise pre flop, your range is so much wider than if you limp/call. You're on the button and you're raising nearly one in five hands. It could be anything if you raise, so when I flop trip aces, I'm way ahead of your range and delighted to get my monies in. But since you limp/called, I'd be really edgy about putting money in after my flop bet, in fact there's a remote possibility I could come to the conclusion I'm behind your range and make a sicker fold than I've ever made to date. But I could only ever fold this by leading out on the flop first, otherwise there's too many bluffs in your range.
I think a better player than me, or indeed this villain, could get away from this, but only because you left the door open for them to. If you raise this pre, then I can't see anybody getting away from it with barely over 100bb.

yeah i'm kindda suprised i limp called pre as well usually i open any pair on btn but i was trying to let MP see the flop as well since he was so spastic, basically i was giving up on , isolating the limper , and taking it down with a cbet / which would longterm prolly be more ev+ then just setmining like it was FR. then again with an active BB isolating a ton when the fish in MP limps and with me on btn i figured it could become a juicy pot if MP limp called like he usually did ( unfortunately he folded) . that was my plan of attack( prolly not the right word for a setmining arse like me) , basically i'm getting great odds to bink a set and BB was pretty aggro valuebetting thinly 3 streets more than once, i figured this was a good chance to bust his chops basically :)
