AKo vs. goofy line

Could not figure out what this guy was doing. CO was about 10/5 over 42 hands, no reads on him. Probably should have folded the turn, but after he checks the flop and bets small here, thought I might call and see what happened on the river. Anyone vote for folding to the 4-bet pf here?

I raise pre to .16 and pot the river where i'd expect to see a fold most of the time. Turn is confusing tho, I think calling is bad here but raising isn't out of the question, but really I think folding the turn is best.

opening range and fold to 3b range?

Only have 42 hands on him. VPIP: 10, PFR: 5. Fold to 3-bet is 50% (but that's only a 2 hand sample).

What sort of range do you think that translates to when he opens in that spot etc...

Only 42 hands but so far seems pretty tight. From CO in a 6 man table he's probably opening 88+, AJo+, ATs+, KQo, KJs+. Something like that. My 3-bet was a little weak, so I'd think he might 4-bet TT+, AQo+, AQs+. If I'm right about that I have about 50% equity pre-flop. Even if I take off AQo and AQs I have about 40% equity, so I can probably call.

Post flop just seemed goofy to me. I thought about taking a stab at the pot on the flop when he checked to me, but figured with the 4-bet there was a fair chance he had an overpair and was trying to trap me. Small bet on the flop I'm thinking maybe he does have an over-pair and figures he doesn't want to just check it down with me. If he had bet bigger I would have folded. River was just donk weird. Maybe I should have raised him with my A high, but he'd played it so strangely I was pretty happy to just see what he had for $0.08.

He will probably fold AQ pre. I think it's better to think of your 3b as a semi bluff with blockers rather than for value because I would assume you're folding out most of his opening range... and definitely most or all of the hands that you dominate. I think both calling and 3-betting are fine. If you call you are not going to get a flop where you out-kick his tp a lot, but your PF 3b is immediately profitable. - he opens 118 combos and folds all but 48 (64 if he continues with AQ)
You have to weight that up against the value of playing against a dominated range IP. - as long as villain can't fold top pair ever, calling should be the most profitable option. Plus you certainly don't mind some fish in the blinds coming along.

If you're going to call a bet, albeit a smallish one, on what appears to be a blank turn, it seems like you might want to bet the flop.

What is a bet on the flop supposed to accomplish? We can call the turn because we can be pretty sure we have 6/45 or 1:7 to improve when we are behind and we get 4:1 in pot odds. We are good unimproved some of the time, and we'll split sometimes as well. We only need to make ~46c on the river when we hit, and he's fairly likely to make a crying call with some pair on an ace or K river if we bet half pot - ish.

Plus there's some value in seeing what kind of hand he played that goofy. If he shows up with KK+, we can set mine him for 8:1 in future 3b pots etc. ducy

don't 3bet a 10/5 with AK, just because you have AK.

i would 3 bet pre at least 3x his open. probably call one bet on flop fold the turn , his range is so often gonna be JJ+
