I think i messed up value here. AA

I lost the HH because PT3 crashed.

I chose this table and seat because of the SB being a 26/4 over 20 and his big stack, I had him marked as fishy , but needed more proof.

Btn $2.70
Sb $3.68
BB $2.00 (hero)
UtG $0.50
UTG+1 $3.75

Hero :ac: :as:

UTG raises to $0.20, 2 folds , SB calls $0.09 Hero ??

I sat and thought what to do, I wanted the SB to come , I was delighted he was still here .

I was talking out loud. How do I get him to come another street ?

I could nt make my mind up. 3bet or flat, 3bet or flat. Do I 3 bet or flat call?

My time was ticking away , I 3bet and the shortie came with me but the SB didnt.

My thinking is results orientated.

Because the Sb folded , im thinking.....

I should have flatted because of position , then we all see the flop, the shortie goes all-in , the SB comes along, and im not starting this thread.

But , not building the pot seems wrong here.

Flat or 3bet ?

There is also the point of view that says if he folded now he would have folded later as well.

Celtic 3B'ing here is standard but pls give me your predictions/thoughts as to:

1) What are the pros/cons of 3B'ing pre?
2) What are the pros/cons of flatting pre?

That way we can see what's wrong with your thought process.

And congrats at at least 'thinking' only about 10% of poker players actually do this

Do you really want a multiway pot with AA? Of course, 3 bet unless you know you are flopping top set with no draws then of course flat.

Yes, I think my 3bet size should deny him odds to his his set.
I Found the HH , im lookin at it now.
Ignoring the shortie, when I 3bet, the SB would have to pay 0.24 to win 0.54.
or 0.24 to hopefully hit set and pick up my remaining $1.66 , but he would only be getting under 7/1 odds for the risk.

I think thats what caddie is trying to prokove me to realise.

1 ) 3 betting denies villian set sufficient odds.

2) When the hand goes to showdown, if ppl are paying attention, they see me 3bet w/ AA. Gives me scope to 3bet light.

3) More importantly. If we're barreling every street, we need to be raising pre, so we can be ALL-in by the river.

The down side to 3betting is all fold, and no-one likes to see that When we pick up AA.

But it is only a pair. and an all fold result is still $ $ $ heading our way.

Like Para says the only flop we like is an A and no draws whatsoever. And thats unlikely.
