AKo vs small stack 5NL
just sat down at this table, 2nd hand in, no stats, no reads.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (9 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
UTG+1 ($5.28)
MP1 ($6)
MP2 ($5.14)
Hero (MP3) ($5.07)
CO ($10.42)
Button ($2)
SB ($3.05)
BB ($4.55)
UTG ($2.01)
Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K:spade:, A:club:
UTG bets $0.15, 1 fold, MP1 calls $0.15, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.50, 4 folds, UTG raises to $2.01 (All-In), 1 fold, Hero CALLS? FOLDS?
Being a short stack i think i can put a fairly wide range on her.
Something like 88+, AQs+, AKo. Although i think they show up more often with JJ+ (how do u factor that in?)
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 56.652% 47.37% 09.28% 467182164 91565982.00 { 88+, AQs+, AKo }
Hand 1: 43.348% 34.06% 09.28% 335972976 91565982.00 { AKo }
can someone post the link to the 'how to analyze calling an all in" article, I think by spoon.
couldn't find it but i'll book mark it, thx
Is it ok to 3bet here? I prob wouldn't do it against a 12-9 type but someone more fishy, but again i had to reads or anything. I think i was just trying to isolate the original raiser
In general is it better to be slightly more conservative against unknowns?

In the digest of course :D
Fwiw, 3betting a short stack and not knowing what to do when he shoves over you is a massive leak. Dont just raise him 'just because'. Raise with a plan. When villain sees your raise, a 4bet is much more likely due to how short he is so account for this and have a plan for it.
As to raising an unknown in general. AK plays great when hands like AQ, AJ, and KQ and other similar hands exist and its just meh otherwise. Its a cool hand to make stands with in tough games due to its ability to flip with alot of things...but thats pretty high variance and not really worth it at 5nl. So it basically just comes down to if you can put these hands in his calling/shoving range when you 3bet in the first place.
As to what to do when he 4bets, the spoon article is right there :-P, and its a pretty clear call.

Never folding once you 3b pre(I'd go very slightly larger), flatting is probably better but this is read dependent obviously.

lol I had it rdy like 10min ago but didn't hit reply :(

lol
k so ...
pot = 2.73
bet = 1.51
equity = 43.3%
1.51/(1.51+2.73) = 35.6%
Therefore +EV b/c our hand equity is greater than the ratio of what we have to call to the amount we would win ( did I word that correctly? lol)
k so tighter range JJ+, AKs
Ako has 36.2% equity
So really its still +EV but pretty marginal

Short stacks raneg imo is 55+, AQ+, possibly even KQ, but that could be pushing it. Easy call.

Call good chance you have domination or I would say at worse you are 50%.
