Standard 3-barrel spot vs. standard check down/pot control spot?

I have been working on flop textures vs ranges recently and choosing which boards to play different ways. Here are two AK hands from today. FYI I play 50bbs currently, to set up more interesting river shoving spots and work on pot size manipulation. Playing deep, I tend to get less value from my good hands than I should. Of course I don't hit and run.

I would appreciate comment.

1. Barrel hand

Villain is a bad reg, 14/11/2.3, only marginal winning player.. definitely an fpp "pro". His preflop range was 22-QQ, AJ+, KQ. Flop calling range most of his preflop range including kqs. His turn calling range is 77-QQ, AJ+. My thought process is I have to 3 barrel this to get rid of all tying hands and pairs that beat me. The only call I think he can make is QQ even though he doesn't realize that 99-QQ is all basically the same hand. River is an easy bet/fold.

2. Non-barrel hand. Overcalling my 3-bet screams JJ-QQ or another badly played pp. Of course, he had fishy stats which makes betting on the flop just silly. No hand in his range folds here unless he happens to have 22-66 which is unlikely. Villain was running 50/16 over only 42 hands. I go ahead and include the results because it doesn't really matter as played. I actually almost bet the turn for a split second because what kind of idiot checks any made hand there. Shrug.

Villain had JJ

Hand 1: If you choose to c bet this board you will need to fire missed turns and rivers a good amount. Although we know that villain's range is never too strong on this board, I still cannot "trust" him to fold much of his preflop flatting range. I check/fold here a lot and just move on, unless I have reads that villain can read ranges well enough to fold marginal hands on non threatening boards when facing aggression.

Hand 2: I think this is pretty standard.

What worse hands are we getting value from and what better hands are we folding that are in his range?

Sorry I didn't really pay attention to the fact that we're short the first time, but do we have any reads of what his flatting range is pre?

Yeah, I'm sorry that I didn't read it very thoroughly and I think my origional post wasn't very good. If I had two shortstack open and another shortstack 3b I would probably fold jacks and maybe queens (assuming you and the other shortstack had decent stats), and call kings or aces because it might keep the origional raiser's range wider, you played it well though

H1 I would bet the turn bigger and set things up for a larger river bet.

H2 I would make your 3bet sizing smaller as an overall game plan if you are going to half stack.

H1- I didn't want to make the bet induce him to raise, but I understand what you are saying. That is one of things I have been working hard on is picking the right turn bets to accomplish my plan by the river.

H2- I agree completely.. I think it was his fishy stats that made me bet bigger.
