Just wondering if anyone can reccommend some good books to read on NLHE. Wanting to absolutely crush some live poker. I'm starting out with Mike Caro, Small stakes holdem (which I think is a limit book though?) and Doyle's books. Any others?

That's Sklansky and Miller, not Caro. A way more recent book by the same authors is Small Stakes No Limit Holdem. Which might be a better choice for you... it being about no limit and all.
Super System is to poker what Bohrs atom is to chemistry. It has its merits historically and technically to a certain extent, but the games have changed so much that it's hardly a good starting point.
The only poker book that I can really recommend is Elements Of Poker. But I haven't really read many.

I assumed he meant Caro's book of tells. And yes, SSHL is a limit book. If you want to "crush" live poker you need to play it a lot and study the game. Most poker study for me begins and ends with Theory of Poker, while Professional NLH and No Limit Holdem: Theory and Practice are also good. I mention them because their examples pertain to live poker hands, as well as the good fundamentals they provide. These are good books for getting you to think like a professional. Once you can do that, it's mostly about applying what you've learned in the infinite number of ways possible.
Poker is poker is poker. It's about making the correct adjustments and playing the most profitably given your opponents and such.
Thanks mate, yeah was talking about book of tells. Are you talking about "Theory of poker" by Sklanksy? mate, ssnlh is a freaken hard book to find to download.... unreal, what is the best torrent site for this sort of thing?

When I first started taking poker seriously I got the Sklansky books - imo the bibles of the game. But they are drier than the sahara and take intense concentration to understand. However, they remain THE way to play.
Re supersystem - depends really whether you're gonna stick to texas or if you're gonna experiment (as it covers several forms of the game). Many say it's out of date but just adapt the concepts. I would tho recomment the update which includes Negreanu rather than the original.
Really tho the more books you can get hold of the better.
Re Caro - some say it's not worth bothering with anymore but if you can commit his short notes at the back over the tells, then they are a useful aspect to have when making a decisions, just bear in mind the villains might have read it too and be acting the tell to deceive.
