Just started multi-tabling last night.

So last night I started multi-tabling for the first time and I almost blew it a few times, thank fully only one hand resulted in lost $$ and I was able to spot the problem in time to prevent a bad shove. So is there a trick to spotting these traps while multi-tabling? Just vigilance?

I've run into your 2nd hand A LOT in the last couple days. Two or three times when I have a mid-pair 9s-Js and the board is all lower cards but villain has a higher pair Qs-As.

I think a win at that point is just losing as little as possible.

Personally, I'm a bit nitty and may've let QJo go to an UTG raise, but that's also table/player dependent.

How many tables are you playing? I'm currently only 2-tabling. First, I play on my notebook which has a large screen but being a widescreen can only really fit two windows in comfortably.

I play 6-max, too. So with too many tables running I feel like I'm just playing whack-a-mole and can't keep up.

Pick a number of tables that you feel you can accurately keep notes on and be somewhat cognizant of the doings that are transpiring. If that's two tables, so be it. Master two, then when that's old hat, try more.

That's my $.02 by I'm a pretty huge noob so....

you made alot of pretty bad mistakes in these hands. if its anywhere near typical of your playstyle, i would highly suggest minimizing the number of tables you play.

a golden rule to think about

when you raise/bet, you want one of three things
1) worse hands, equity wise, to put more money in (betting for value)
2) better hands, equity wise, to gtfo. (betting as a bluff)
3) protection (rare case)

then you can size your bets based on the desired effect.

Practice multitabling by adding a play money game first until you get comfy.

Are you a winning player so far? You dont look ready to multitable to me.

Hand 1: Preflop is dubious. Postflop is horrible. Calling off a stack with a gutshot is not a winning play.

Hand 2: Fold preflop. What is your flop raise for? What worse hands does he call with? What better hands does he fold? Same question on the turn. What better hands does he fold? What worse hands does he call with? If the answer to both of these questions is "none" youre doing it wrong. Good check behind on the river :P.

I went with 4, I'm running at 1440x900 on a 15" screen so it is a bit tight. I immediately noticed it made me play much faster (which I think is why I ended up getting sucked into hand 1 up there). But it also helped with my patience level.

Overall I finished up 1-2 buy-ins on each table, on one I was even up 3 buy-ins.

Dont jump from 0 -> 4 tables. Add one tables at first. Get comfortable with it. Then add another and get confortable. I doubt youll be able to cope with 4 right away and still be able to keep track of things.

"losing the least amount possible".... not sure how you figure this???.... you raised here on the flop.

I haven't followed any of your other posts but I'd suggest to not play anymore than 2 tables at a time,.... and work on 'knowing why you're betting'.

caught it on the turn. He's called your flop reraise , hows the 5 going to help your hand and hows it going to help villains hand? if you bet hes likely to call this bet as well.

My notes on the villain in hand 2 (who left after this hand) Include:
Raised 3 bets UTG with A6s
Raised 4 bets MP1 with JTo

I think with what I had seen at that point it was safe to assume I was way ahead on the flop. I could see slowing down on the turn but with this player that would be 50-50 as far as I can see. The fact that he called my turn bet definitely told me something was up thus my check on the river.

I think his point is you cant necessarily judge your performance on your results over a small sample size of hands. Thats especially true when one of the hands you posted is a 150bb suckout where you didnt have odds to call. But anyway, everyone makes mistakes from time to time. Hopefully you learn from it and dont end up paying it back.

hand 2: Bet the flop , what happens when the 3rd spade drops are you going to pay off the flush draws that continue on the flop? (yes) what about 78s or KQs or QJs. You're ahead but it could turn nasty on this board(yes you would). make them pay to continue for their draws.

hand 4 : fold pre : you have a raiser and a 3 bet in front of you and you will playing the rest of this hand out of position. Did you assign a range to the 3better? If he shows up with AA KK QQ which would be a large part of his 3 bet range (barring any stats or reads) your check raise all in is horrible.You got lucky and hit about the only part of the range you beat.

Way too small and saying that you missed.Again any stats or reads on villain cos I think I'd need a read that he bluffs a lot to call the allin on the turn after he raised you on the flop. villain could play this way with 9x A9 A4 44 which all have you crushed.

In hand 2, your plan on the flop should be to get your hands on his $1.65. You won't do this by checking the flop. A nice 20c, 50c, 95c sequence would be good on a draw heavy board. Plus a lot of turn cards are bad for you: any spade, 8, J, Q, K....

He'd been a maniac and shoving with any two cards since he'd sat down 10 minutes prior I was calling him with any TPTK

If you have reads that you are basing your decisions on then put them in the original post. Its a total waste of time to post a hand and not tell us "hed been shoving any 2 for 10 minutes".
