Setting up for a steal on river VS Tight Villian.

Okay, I've played with villian for around 50 hands. He's running at 18/4. He's been playing so tight it's not funny. he's limp folding hands on flop/river a lot.

I get priced in with Q10 in the BB against some nice deep stacks.

I've noticed that the player that raised preflop is folding a lot if bet at after flop, so I wasn't worried there.

I was moreso waiting to isolate the tight villian.

What would you expect is a big enough bet to take him off a small pp or very weak K on the river?

He already called your turn raise, so you can take small PPs out of the range. You should probably just give up now.

Personally I think these types of plays are too ambitious for the micro stakes. Youre trying to "force" a weak player off a made hand. There are a lot better spots than this to make easy money.

I realise this, but I never really ever get into these spots. It's almost a once-off for the limit I play.

I wouldn't take a pp below K's out of his range with the flat call to a raise either, personally...

With all that "micro stakes, he has a hand, ohwow he wont fold" crap aside, I would just like to know what you think would be a good bet to get someone to fold here.

I would say it depends on how aggressive you have been pre with your Ak hands. Obviously you are repping a set on the turn and he isn't running away. He probably has KQ, KJ and thinks you are on some sort of combo draw, spades plus a gutter. Yeah he thinks a set is in there too, but the former is far more likely. The river ain't your friend and I think the only thing to possibly make him lay down his hand is a shove. The problem is, a shove looks like a boat and a busted draw, if he isn't giving you credit for the set on the turn, I think he calls the river, and a 1/2 pot value bet is almost definitely getting called cause he doesn't think you have AK.

If you want him to fold out a K or something just overbet shove. You probably wont get looked up unless your read is wrong and he has a monster. I feel like a 1/2-2/3 pot bet is just going to get snapped off a lot.

edit: Didnt see that you were not fullstacked. If you shove youre prolly still getting called. Like I said, its a bad spot.

I decided that a shove was just as good as a $2.50-$3 bet on the river. Hands like A9, Kx and < 77 he would most likely fold as his image is so tight and obviously has knowledge of what could beat his hand.

He would've reraised me with AK+ or anything remotely stronger. So it was either he had me absoloutley smashed, or I could bet him off the hand.

EDIT: Given then fact he also bet so small on the flop and turn, indicated to me his hand was very weak.

Not my read, TT-QQ. Maybe AsQs. To be honest, not calling the river after the raise on the turn. Just bad player
