Good spot for 2 barrels? 10nl

Villian was 20/13 and over 120 hands and had folded the only time anyone had 3 bet him. I had been relatively inactive at the table and had never defended bb.

Preflop i think even though he is reasonably tight AQs has some good equity against his continuing to 3 bet range, plus i expect to get alot of credit due to how tight i have been.

Flatting my 3 bet pre without much history i put im on something like 77-QQ and AQ maby AJ or KQs. On flop Majority of his range looks like it will fold to 2 barrels so i c bet with plan to fire any turn. Is this standard, and should we be planning to fire all aces, jacks, tens and queens on the turn?

I see your reasoning, but am struggling with having an aggressive enough line to make this work for my game style. I think I'm much more conservative. I can see the flop bet, but getting the call raises a red flag for me... the turn bet though seems to have worked, but I think I'm worried about him shoving here... were you playing the turn bet/fold?

I'm insta folding turn to a raise, and probably c/f'ing turn as well. Also, I think if you bet this flop you have to fire 2nd barrel almost every time or it is a HUGE leak. If you look at his range note almost all of it can call 1 barrel, so its really bad to c bet then c/f. Main thought here is while he flatted our 3b which limits his perceived range, villian is defenately putting us on AA KK or QQ alot here.

If you would c bet flop and the turn checks through are you firing river btw? I hate this line because we are like never doing this with the top of our range that c bet flop, but i think in 10nl pokerstars river bets after checking through turn get called by everything except missed draws. I read some stuff about people interpreting that line as pot control in Fee's article, but at my stakes it just gets no respect.

Any merit in flatting pre here? Especially if you think he's giving you credit for a hand since you've never defended before and he has folded his open to a 3bet before

Looks standard to me, flatting pre is also an option.

great spot, imo. board is dry and he may be thinking you are cbetting. however, a 2nd barrel on a brick turn may convince him you have the J, and he may fold a mid-pp. pretty standard, me thinks.

I never not barrel that turn.

Couple of things though... his vpip/pfr doesn't matter. look at his steal%. Lots of players are hyper positionally aware and will play 3/3 from anywhere, and steal 40% from the btn.
If he's stealing <20%, or steals more but folds a lot to 3-bets, then calling becomes better.

Why not barrel that turn? What do you think his range is on turn? I put him on 77-QQ or AJ on flop. Assuming all JJ hands slowplay, all qq or aj hands call the 2nd barrel, and 77-TT called ( three dubious assumptions) we have 24 combos folding to us and 18 continuing, which seems profitable. If Barreling here is wrong, what is right? I feel betting the flop then shutting down is terrible as too much of his range is just going to go for cheap show down.

Where did range estimates etc go wrong?

If anyone's willing i'd appreciate some feedback on the other thread I had "two hands against stationy fish" or something like that..

I've recently noticed my red line is going downward. One of flaws in my game I caught on after that was not firing two barrels. After adding it, in exactly this type of situation I turned my slightly downward red line into a break even at NL2.

I'm a fish pretty much, but I like how you handled this. Board is not drawing, it's pretty much perfect for two barrels.
