AKs vs paranoid reg. 3 bet pot.
I have over 800 hands on villain, he's 17/13/24 over this sample and folds to 3 bets 50%. I've played with him quite a bit. For those who play 25NL 6max on stars his name is DPeiler and he has an avatar of some old wise scholar type guy if that rings any bells.
So the dynamic. This guy doesn't like to be pushed around preflop and calls way too many 3 bets oop. He once flatted my 3-bet CO vs BU with 63s and checked down after flopping bottom pair.
I've 3 bet him once already this session and he folded. I have a feeling he's going to want to play back at me here. His style is not to 4-bet bluff from what I've seen so I figure it's going to be post flop that he'll be felting lightly and pos floating/bluffing. I'm not 100% sure on this though and have seen him flat here with JJ QQ also.
So, my question, what to we do on this flop?
I don't want to get c/r'd lightly and have to fold.
I don't like shipping it in with AK
I don't like checking back and folding when he bets the turn
I don't like checking back and guesswork/calling turn and maybe river aswell with A high.
Help?

Re: AKs vs paranoid reg. 3 bet pot.
First of all, you are definitely right to 3bet here the majority of the time. He has shown to call with worse readily.
After the flop, you've put in 10% of your stack already and your hand is marginal against his range. (since his call pf doesn't really define his range) You are not committed. My default is check behind and cbet the turn if he checks again. There's a lot of turn/river combinations that either help your hand or are good to bluff at if necessary. And since I also check here with AA/KK sometimes, it doesn't let him off the hook from the overpair.
Additionally, depending on the read.. a cbet on the flop is not the worst play in the world sometimes if he folds to cbets a lot in 3bet pots.. and since you said he calls way too loose out of position, its probably possible that he will.
Another thing I might do with this guy is 3bet a bit harder (to like $2.70) to cut out his set odds since you have like 115 bbs, it also gets you a bit lower SPR for your AK.
In the future, make sure you know what you are going to do postflop before you do anything preflop.
Of course, I'm a newbie and suck. So take the above with a grain of salt.
