Calling turns, folding rivars. Line checkaments.

1. Villain is 20/15 Tag Reg, ATS of 25. His utg range should be reasonably tight, so JTs has good implie odds and plays well post flop in position, seldomly being dominated as he doesn't open many better Js or Ts if any.

Flop is pretty standard I think.

Turn was a flat b/c If his range for betting the turn and felting is something like [AQ, AK, 55 TT-QQ, AA, KK] then I have only 40% equity. Thought I'd be better off calling a bet on some rivers to keep bluffs in there and being able to value bet should he check.

Unfortunately river was like the worst card ever.

2. Villain was 42/29 and donkish over 51 hands. I can see him bluffing in this spot but not a huge overbet like this. I just figured this was an 8 way way too often for me to call given shitty odds.

I could easily fold preflop here, given stack sizes but this guy was pretty spewy and bad, so given the price I thought I'd set mine vs him in position.

I'm gonna use your HH for some analysis practice, and who knows, maybe that'll kick off some discussion for you.

1.
Preflop: Let's say he's opening {AJ+, KQs, 55+} <- This first range is always something I fairly arbitrarily decide based on his vpip/pfr stats, erring a little on the looser side. I guess it's something I'll get better at with experience?
Call here seems fine.

Flop: Heads up I could believe him to be c-betting his whole range here, so his range seems the same and the call seems fine with a pair.

Turn: Here even if he was stacking off with his entire range (which is obviously unlikely) you only have 45% equity, so I think the call is fine.

River: Um. Every single hand in his range now beats you. So yeah, easy fold, I guess.

Hmm, that seems pretty much like I'm just echoing what you said. Whatever, at least I'm thinking about it.


Hand 2.

Preflop: Again, arbitrary decision that his range is: {A2+, K8+, Q9+, J9+, 54s+, 75s+, 22+}

Flop: When this checks through I take two-pair hands out of his range, pretty much all sixes and 87s.

Turn: Let's say his range for betting here is: {A3, A7, A8, K8, 98s, 97s, T8s, 77, 88, 99+} Against that range you have like exactly 50% equity.

River: The queen hits and he shoves. I'd say his shoving range is like {A3, A8, K8, 98s, 75s?, T8s, 77, QQ, KK+} Against that range you have 35% equity. Which is close, but still a fold, and I don't know if he's really shoving 75s here, nor KK/AA.

So I guess again, I agree with your lines.

As always, comments/critique on my analysis are more than welcome.

Mark, I think your analysis is awesome as it is pretty much exactly the same as mine. However, I think you're giving him too wide a river shoving range. Bear in mind he's shoving double the pot here so I'm not including 75, even sets are questionable I think.
