[6-Max] 20NL: Turned Flush Facing River Raise

Had only 14 hands on opp, he seemed like a LAGG reg: 33/20 AF was ~2.

Was going to try to check/raise all in the flop to mix it up but I guess I should usually lead there vs unknown?

I turned the flush and I bet half-pot, he flatcalls. River is a Q that could possibly complete a straight. The question is, are people raising straights on this board?

I count out all sets as they are raising the turn most of the time. QJ wouldn't check behind on flop. AQ/AJ probably repop it PF or raise turn anyways if he calls with it pre.

That leaves me with KTs, KTo for a straight, or high flushes.

So do we fold, flatcall, or shove ?

just bet the flop, probably not huge value in raising the river but since we checked the flop I'd go ahead a jam.

I agree with spenda. We aren't folding the river, as only higher flushes beat us and he's pretty likely to either (1) bet the flop with a flush draw or (2) raise the turn. Not sure if I like river call or shove better.

Kind of a strange river raise. Like the majority of hands you would think he has would have bet the flop when checked to.

And yeah just bet flop, and as played, bet turn larger ($1.70). Although, I don't mind a flop c/r all that much, as this is one of those boards that the majority of villains will bet like their entire range when checked to (at least all of their air), so by c/raising we get a bet out of his air that he would have folded to our cbet. But bet is def the standard.

bet/shove flop. as played, bet turn more because Jx+woulda bet flop and TT- is probably folding to most any bet anyway. As played it's tough for me to see shoving river being good

I would ship this on the river. Villain probably doesnt put you on a flush (Why would he?) and I dont really see a flush in his range. If hes bad or suspicious of you, He might look you up with 2 pair, certainly he wont fold his sets either.

Basically there is enough value in shoving, so go for it and take his stack.

I don't agree with jamming the river because when he raises river he polarizes his range to spazz-out bluffs and flushes. It's unlikely he has a flush, but it's unlikely he calls with worse unless he's fishy. We only beat 4s3s. I'm not sure if he plays that pf even.

I agree with b/3b flop because we have a hudge draw.

First of all thanks for your 6max vids on GS ! I'm a (ex) SnG player trying to master cashgames, full ring was too boring, so 6max is where I'm gonna be at for the next thousands of hands. Your lectures are n n n niiice!

On topic: How many worse hands are calling my river shove? If he had a high flushdraw he'd probably check behind on flop, call turn and valueraise the river like he did here. If that's the case I'm in bad shape cuz like IOPQ said I'm only beating 23s/34s which is an unlikely holding.

It's only 20NL so he might raise a straight for value, but is he calling my turn bet with KTo for a gutshot..I doubt it..

So it's either a (1)a pure bluff or (2) a higher flush, (1) will fold so no value gained, (2) is stacking me.

It did look like a bluff line on my side; passive flop, agrro turn/river. So that might widen the range he's bluffing with...

Folding is out of the question here, little value in raising, so I guess calling is the best play.
I actually did fold so I can't post the results, but this was due a timeout (iPoker turbo tables are insanely fast, didn't notice this hand was on a turbo).
I probably would have called here. Does that make any sense?

The part of your logic I don't like is thinking he'd check the flop with a flush draw, while it might be the case I'd lean towards thinking he'd bet a flush draw once we checked to him.

You say he can't have KTo but he could with Ks or even Ts, as well as a hand like AQ. This is a spot where I'd be surprised if we're ever behind, so while it's hard to get called by worse hands (as his river range seems to have a decent % of bluffs in it and few made hands other than AQ/KT/weirdly played QJ,AJ,flushes) it still can be profitable to jam here.
