Hey guys i've been grinding up a roll at 2nl, and although i realise c betting every flop in a HU pot is something people will not exploit at 2nl because no one has HUD and no one pays attention, but in general when should i NOT be c betting?
btw please give examples and say something more specific than "when the flop hits their range" :?: :?: :?:
Well, based on a great article on here, this is almost word for word on what i learnt.
- Be more willing to c-bet when you are in position.
- Be more willing to c-bet when the flop is heads up. In fact you should be c-betting in most cases here, except against loose players whom you know will call.
- Be less willing to c-bet when the flop is multiway. I rarely bet 3 way flops when I miss.
- Be less willing to c-bet flops with a lot of draws. I almost always check a JsTsXc flop when I miss 77, having raised before the flop.
- Be more willing to c-bet when you have outs, (like AK on a QJx board where you have at least a gutshot and tainted overcards).

agree with the others but idk about this one. Playing in position gives you the privilege of controlling the pot size and action when your opponent checks to you whereas playing oop is such a disadvantage that you often have to keep the initiative to negate it. It is true that your cbets are more likely to get folds when you're in position though.Quote:

Oh, and dry boards = great to cbet on because...FE alone. Just wanted to clear that up since I think someone said otherwise.

Also, another way of looking at it is, "When is it correct to bet?". Which obviously the inverse will help you understand times when you shouldn't be cbetting.
I dont know. I guess it will develop more at higher limits. As i'm not mentally challenged i understand to c bet less into multi way pots, but i really think i have fold equity in almost every HU pot at 2nl. I will be isolating players like 2 times an orbit and c betting pretty much any flop and they still fold to 80%+ of c bets. Then again it is 2nl, and thats why im getting like 43PTBB/100 (small small sample)
It may be profitable to cbet every flop at 2nl; however, that doesn't mean it's the most profitable way to play. Sometimes, you might have fold equity, but them folding isn't the best result. Sometimes it's better to check back the flop, keeping villain's range wide, in order to gain a bet, or two, from bluffs/weaker hands on later streets.Quote:
