Finally I hit a set but... what do I do?

Opponent is 35/20 after 127 hands.

This is how it goes:
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.04 BB (6 handed) - Party-Poker Converter Tool from flopturnriver

Hero (Button) ($6.76)
SB ($11.85)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 6d, 6h
1 fold, MP bets $0.16, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.16, SB raises $0.82, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.68

Flop: ($1.88) 6c, 9s, 10d (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $1.34, SB raises $2.90, Hero raises $3.12, SB raises to $11.01 (All-In), Hero calls $1.46 (All-In)

Turn: ($13.72) 2h (2 players, 2 all-in)

River: ($13.72) 4s (2 players, 2 all-in)

Total pot: $13.72

What is going on? Was my play correct?

whats our plan when we dont hit a set?

after he raises flop, we have a very easy ship. He isnt 3betting 78, and has way more combinations of AA,KK,QQ than he does of TT, 99 so get it in.

Im not sure but i would have folded pre flop. You're putting 0.82 in to possibly get 6.76 in return, so i dont think you have set odds there.

On the flop though i would have done the same as you and you played it fine i think.

Yes I agree that I shouldn't 3 call his 3-bet with 66. The justification I gave to myself (aside from playing bad) is that he could 3 betting with things like AJ, AQ, KQ, KJ, QJ, AXs and small pocket pairs as long as the AA, KK AK QQ JJ TT 99 88, so the majority of hands he could 3-bet I am ahead.I admit the majoriy is marginal

I do not fully understand the whole range thing and how it affects my descisions. from what I write here, mabe somebody can help me

It's 2NL, you can easily spot the players who 3bet with crap and those who raise with the goods. You're barely getting 8:1 to here on your preflop call. You'd like to have around 15:1 when playing for set odds. So first mistake is calling preflop.

As played, a flop lead is fine. You hit your set, get the money in.

Fold to the reraise preflop. You will lose a lot of money playing like this.

Now I may be wrong and this may also be a leak in my game, but why wouldn't you call the 3bet?

.82 call (total preflop) into a 6.76 stack is 8.24:1. Someone 3betting here (unless it's light i suppose) is pretty much saying "hey if you hit your set, I'ma give you my stack". It is read dependent though. I would be more likely to play this against a relatively tight player as their chance for staying committed to their hand is higher than a Laggy individual.

By no means what I just said is "DA TRUTH", cause I'm concerned this may be a leak in my game too.

first of all, we already put in the $.16
we need to call $.68
I think we win $7.12 more

we have a problem though, if he 3bs QQ+,AK then we don't stack him every time
if he has AK on a low flop we don't stack him, if he has QQ on an ace flop we don't stack him
if he has AA on an ace flop we're the ones getting stacked

so given the fact that we only get stacks in half of the time and a small percentage of the time we get owned for our stack, we should have something like 15:1 to setmine and we're not getting close to that

You'll hit your set about 1 time in 8 . However it doesn't mean that you will win when you do hit the set or that your opponent will have a hand that they want to continue with and get all there money in . In effect if you work on odds nearer to 15:1 then you are building an allowance in for the times you lose and the times you don't get paid off. Otherwise you'll find that in the long run the money you make when you hit your set will be less than the money you put in seeing the flop.

thank you, I'ma start implementing that into my game. I think it's part of the reason I'm down lately.
