Premium pairs with an overcard OOP

So last night while watching random wsop 2008 videos I noticed an interesting but pretty common hand go down. Player A raised with QQ and was called by the button and flop comes down K66. And he checked.

In many hands that I've played myself, I would always just bet/fold. After realizing what the player A did, I remembered the numerous times I would be called on a flop like this and have no idea what to do on the turn.

But what is the point of a continuation bet on this board? We'll never fold out a better hand and we only get a little bit of value from smaller PPs whom might not even be willing to peel a card. Is check/call a better line to take?

Very good insight. We shouldn't automatically cbet "to find out where we stand", if an alternative way (check/call) wins more money in the long run. Not defining your hand may put you into uncomfortable spots at times, though, thus increasing the number of mistakes.

Check/call isn't a bad line. Neither is bet/fold. And it really depends on the villain. Either way this is a spot where you are going to be in relatively iffy spots on the turn and river. Whether you bet or not goes back to their range and whether they are willing to peel the flop with worse often enough.

If he is willing to bet very often when we check, then I'd be more willing to check/call. If he's peeling/floating a lot then I'd be more willing to bet/fold. Either way on the turn you have to soul read or make a possibly nitty fold if you check and he bets.
