Didn't have much read on the donk, thought I could take him off his hand, each street I bet it took him forever to call so I thought he was a lot weaker than what he showed down. Plus, he just flats pre.

just give up after the flop he's clearly got an ace he's not folding, and please check behind river after gaining some showdown value

What are you trying to make him fold on the turn after he called your minraise on the flop?
Are you betting the river for value or as a bluff? - Either way: what are you trying to make him fold / call with?

Fold flop to his initial donk. This is a horrible board for you to raise the flop with, especially 100% of the time.

I agree 100% you're beat 90% of the time based on ace on the flop.

your river bet doesnt make any sense
tell yourself,what can he continue with till river?
better yet,his turn range?

once he calls flop he has told you has a draw or an ace and will not be folding turn. bail on the hand plz

This, give up and check the turn behind and on the river please just check it back as you have some showdown value.

Any bet on the river is a bluff here, as nothing worse will call.

Yep, for the most part of my poker career I've been a gut player, started playing live then transitioned to online. What I am trying to accomplish is having a complete thought process (instead a feel) during the entire hand from start to end.

I feel like I have to learn the game all over as I transition to cash from tournaments, it's a weird feeling.

Cash games highlight people's hand reading skills far more than tournaments.

With each hand, ask:
"What is villains range from this position"
and
"Why is he betting this amount, or checking. What part of his range does this and why?"
